That's some nice info. I never would have guessed how he's working to improve Ehimen's hands. And the progress that some of these guys have made is quite impressive.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

Impressive
I find the statements from Rosenboom to be a real positve indicator of where the team is at right now.
Toure and the rest of the seniors are putting in the work to make their last season one to remember.
Make sure to look at the NBA draft combine stats and look at how our guys stack up.

Strength is certainly important at the D-1 level, but there are many other factors that go into making a good basketball player. I noticed Andrew Goudelock only was able to do 4 reps in the bench press but he was certainly strong enough to knock down 35 foot jumpers without straining.
I'm not sure EO's problems with catching the ball have anything to do with strength (although I suppose that's possible). I would think that is more of a finesse-type issue. Mike Leach had some interesting drills for his wide receivers at Texas Tech. One of the things he had them doing was catching tennis balls launched from a serving machine. For EO something like that or perhaps even playing catch with a football might be helpful and, of course, practice the skill needed itself -- practice catching and handling the basketball. Practice wearing cloth work gloves. Stuff like that.
It would be interesting to see some of the other parameters tested in the NBA camps - Standing Vertical, Max Vertical, Lane Agility, Modified Lane Agility and 3/4 Court Sprint and other more basketall specific skills.
I do agree that Kerry's report does show one very important aspect - a strong work ethic. Gotta llike that.Last edited by 1972Shocker; October 17, 2011, 04:29 PM.
