Marty is correct. I try and stray away from using copyrighted materials that I'm not given specific permission to use. Especially for a logo.

I am wanting to say that VBulletin allows you to change the logo based on what forum you're in, if not, I'm sure I can try and find some php code that would allow it.

I'm not sure what we could use for a general themed logo. Any suggestions? Obviously other than copyrighted university materials that is.

As for the WSU copyrighted logos, you could always ask for permission. I did that many years ago and received permission. Though that didn't stop me from getting a cease-and-desist letter from CLC! But the athletic department took care of it for me.

That was a different era, so not sure if the department would be cool with it now or not.

Well I have tried contacting the Athletic Department twice now, with a few months in between, and haven't heard back from either person I contacted. Might give it another shot.

Wow, I don't recall it ever taking longer than a day, maybe two, before getting a response, regardless of who I was contacting.

I don't know if things have gone south since Schaus (as many here have implied) or they are just understaffed. Either way, it doesn't look good.

I am excited for a new layout, but I too hope the same general concepts are kept intact from the current system.

I agree that the logo shouldn't solely consist of a basketball, since this is a site dedicated to Shocker athletics as a whole. I do like the idea of having each subforum having a different element of each sport.

Everything should transfer over. Passwords, users, posts, threads, everything should come over. When everyone logs in to the new software, it should look exactly like this forum layout, just slightly different due to the way the new software works.

I'm kind of excited. The last change ShockerNet made was pretty big and a huge upgrade. Ok, I don't know if it was the last change, but it was a major update switching boards. I look forward to your vision for ShockerNet
