I'm bringing my Tekele Cotton poster, my Tekele Cotton jersey, my custom Tekele Cotton bobble head, my Tekele Cotton panties, and my Tekele Cotton tattooed butt cheeks to these games!

    32 forever!

I love you Tekele! I mean, uh, no homo -- but I love you!

People can take my love for him any way they choose. I'd do a lot of unspeakable things to have 100% Cotton back for one more year. Hell, I'd do unspeakable things to have 90% Cotton.

Is it single-elimination? Hopefully we get a cupcake like Bradley in the first round.

Oh my God. Is there any chance he would participate in one of our practices?

P.S. Has he had any children yet? *CB starts counting out 18 years from now in his head*

Just think if Cotton and Chuck Norris had a baby. Nah, Norris isn't man enough to carry one of Cotton's children.

I swear to God…if lame promotions like the Ashley Furniture Shootout show up at this event and break up the momentum of us handing KU/Creighton its backside, I will throat-punch somebody.

I'm pretty pumped. This will be some pretty high level basketball with lots of cash on the line, I imagine Koch is going to be one of if not the highest payout sites. Not to mention a Shocker alumni team that should be really solid making an appearance? I'm sooo in. I wonder if Ron hasn't been picked up by then, if he would be interested in joining the roster. Should be a lot of fun.

I think Ron might be limited because he's technically still in an NBA contract. I'm not sure when it actually expires.

NBA free agency begins July 1st and date they can sign is July 6th. So no issues there.

Ron will likely be in NBA summer league

They just posted on Facebook that Rashard Kelly will be part of the team too.

Very glad he's on the roster. I think Rashard is one of the most underrated players of the Marshall era. Busts his ass and waaaay more skilled than he got credit for(inconsistent jumpshot notwithstanding).

I’ve seen his point totals from Russia and assumed they were all from offensive putbacks. Has Rashard actually started making shots?

Rashard's shooting woes/ability were always overblown due to the context of playing on the best offenses of the Marshall era and even among the best in the country. Career FG% JT: 48.4 Rashard: 47.0 Stutz: 51.5 And to compare to the player who had the most similar role in his time here... Wessel: 36.8

I wonder if they’ve reached out to Ramon, this seems like the kind of thing he’d live for.

If he isn't on the team, that would be my only disappointment.

              • #14
NBA players could, theoretically, play in the tournament. I understand that there would be reasons for them not playing, but its no different than them playing in the Drew League.

                  Here are my questions:

Can we scrimmage them in lieu of a summer foreign tour?

Will Aftershocks be able to scrimmage anyone in preparation for this tournament, say a Juco or Prep School all star team?

It wouldn't surprise me if the Aftershocks show up at a local Y to play a pickup game, wink wink.

I don't think there will be any restrictions on the Aftershocks, this isn't the NCAA.

I would think our current team could unofficially play against them in a scrimmage if the coaches weren't present.
