  • MVCFans upgrade

Just a note that MVCfans.com has now upgraded the site with a new front page/portal, called the MVC Report, where there will be guest columns (there's already one by MoValley John) and RSS and twitter feeds with MVC news.

If you have the forum bookmarked you will probably need to go directly to MVCFans.com to see the portal page.

Whenever I now go to the MVC site on my cell phone it appears to want some sort of plug in and then kicks me over to Google. :(

How funny. Their site has been compromised by hackers. That will cut down on traffic - come to MVCFans and we'll infect you with Malware.

Sorry for the trouble. We noticed there was some rogue code coming from one of the ad servers which was redirecting trafiic from the new page we added. We have eliminated the code, scrubbed the files and everything is back to normal now. We hope you enjoy the site.

              Mvcfan:

You have not fixed the problem. Early this afternoon, I was re-directed to a site that falsely claimed that my computer was infected by malware and viruses, than attempted to have me run their anti-virus software.

Again, this afternoon I was re-directed to some sex site.

To bad, I did enjoy the content.

Same experience. Site was still compromised for me as of this morning. Not a good thing and definitely NSFW.

Reboot your computer. I had issues with MVCFans that affected other things I did in my browser (Firefox). My anti-virus (Avast) blocked a lot of stuff, but I still had issues until I shut Firefox down completely and rebooted.

If you reboot and still have a problem, then you should question your AV provider.

The problem is not with my AV - it is doing the job. The problem is with the MVCfans.

The problem at MVCFans has been corrected. The server is no longer hacked. Any problems anyone is having with MVCFans is a result of a previous log in when the server was hacked.

My AV blocked access to MVCFans for a day or so and I had to reboot to get rid of the last remaining effects of the hack. Now I have no problems, no reports of anything unusual, and absolutely no effect on my system from visiting MVCFans.

The problem is NOT with MVCFans. If you want to keep insisting that MVCFans is still unsafe to visit, please send me a PM and I will be happy to compare my credentials for identifying problems on PC's with yours.

Thanks Aargh. If anyone has an ongoing issue, please let me know. You can send me a PM through SN, tweet or email - admin@mvcfans.com.

There was a hack associated with the ad code and wordpress (the publishing software) that we have resolved. Everything looks good on our end, but we're keeping a close eye to make sure there aren't any other entry points. We apologize for the inconvience and appreciate your patience. We hope to offer some added content for fans of the MVC so we hope you'll check back with us soon.

Now, if you could just get some traffic on MVCfans.com. I like the site, but it is usually a little boring since not much traffic. I check it about once a week, and even then there are few posts.

I would think since it is for the whole conference, that there would be more traffic than what it seems to have.

The commitment to removing the fun of being a fan killed the MVCFans site.
