    Don't try too hard.

Lawrence is a much better town than either Norman or Ames.

And, ironically, the KU fans are less douchebaggy the closer you get to Lawrence. Strange but true.
You know, there is actually truth to that. There is an inverse relationship between distance from campus and douchebagginess.

I think the technical term is "douchebagicity".

I struggled with that. Thanks for the clarification! Your douchebagology is unparalleled!

Sub and im4wsu, appreciate the comments.

I'll tell you guys/gals, as much as I love Wichita and the Shocks, it would be hard to move back to the Kansas winters. Plus our summers aren't as hot as yours.

But, there is something special about Wichita and there is no denying that.

Now let's get back to BB and a great season.

More than likely, you will enjoy it immensely. It's a little provincial in that it's a bit close to the KC suburbs. However, it's a beautiful lively campus, a well-rounded university, and should provide you additional opportunities.

My first experience with Allen Fieldhouse was not actually attending a game, but rather walking home from the library one night in the dead of a quiet snow shrouded campus and hearing the Rock Chalk chant coming from Allen Fieldhouse. It took me awhile to even attend KU games after being brought up in Wichita and a Shocker fan, but listening to that chant drifting across the campus soon reeled me in.

I hope you have a great educational experience at KU.

                Yes.

But what will you be wearing when you attend a Jayhawks game?

My parents did that in 1998.

Actually they lived in Omaha NE from 1963 to 1991. In 1991 my dad decided to retire and they moved to The Villages in Florida.

After living 7 years in Florida they decided to move to Wichita to spend the rest of their lives. My mom still lives in Wichita, my dad lived here until he died 2 years ago.

Florida was nice weather wise, but it rained too much for my mom, she hated the bugs and it was very expensive. They also missed the different seasons. But the winters in Omaha were too harsh to move back to, so they chose Wichita.

My parents were Shocker baseball season ticket holders until my dad's health made it too hard for them to attend games.
