That article is from September 2017.

I remember last Spring when we were certain this was going to be our last recruit, but I think our coaching staff wasn't as high on him as we thought, or maybe he wasn't as high on us. The latter is doubtful, considering he went to Fairfield and is presumably trying to use it as a stepping stone to a better program.

Where do you go when, as a freshman PG, you played the most minutes of anyone on a team that finished last in MAAC, second in scoring, shot 41/27/62%, and while you lead the team in assists at 3.3, you also lead them in TOs at 3.1? I know they changed coaches, but they also have a young team along with (as far as I know) their leading scorer coming back.

What are the odds there are no Lawsons at KU next year?

Isn’t that the dude from Memphis or am I misremembering?

KU spent $160,000 to get one year out of the Lawson brothers.

The $160,000 is two years of their Dad's salary at $80K/year (I could be wrong on the amount - dealing from old memories).

Dedrick is incredibly likely to go pro and K.J. declared as a grad transfer.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

So taxpayers in Kansas paid $160,000 for KU to buy Lawson?

Come on, KW -- it was a much better deal than that; they got multiple Lawsons. The Chickenhawks are nothing if not careful with taxpayers' money.

Wow! Their top recruit just over Lomax and Harris. Must feel like an outsider coming from Florida and all.

Does he play the same position as Wiseman will? If so, that's why he's transferring.

Jones is a 6'6 wing. Wiseman is a 7 footer.

Maybe .01 does the honorable, respectable thing—grants him a release and he come to Wichita State.

            Won’t hold my breath.
