  • The Butler Bulldogs-A case study

Butler, during the Brad Stevens era, absolutely beat down the Horizon Conference, save for one year. They made the jump to the A-10 where they returned to the Dance as a very veteran team. The next year they lost a fair amount of talent (not even close to our losses) and moved to the Big East where they proceeded to go 14-17. Many questioned their move. However the following year, Butler improved in both talent and athleticism due to an expanded recruiting base, in addition to returning some veterans. While not winning the league due to Villanova, they still have course corrected on to two round of 32s and one Sweet 16. Nobody really remembers that 14-17 season now. The reason Butler rebounded is because the program knew they had to raise their talent level to compete day in and day out and they did just that. We will do the same. We may finish eigth or worse this year. I said if we were .500 or better 3G should be COY in the league. But in the long term, the fans and the program will be better for it because as long as he is here, it won’t happen again.

Everybody needs to f***ing relax! Yea the loss sucks, but come on this team will bounce back. This year will be a bumpy ride cause even GGG said so. So how about we just stop complaining and let GGG work his magic. Next season will be special just watch!

    Go shox!

I remember last year when many said "relax". And there were some who said that "there was something wrong with the team"----they were right (as we found out in the post-season...straight from he player's mouths). There are situations where people over-relax...and there are times where people are too pollyanish.
