It says WSU has had to send two "cease and desist" letters to people because they created facebook groups imploring Ellis to come to WSU that potentially violated NCAA rules.

The gist is if anybody creates a facebook fan page for recruiting a athlete and meets the definition of a booster it would be NCAA violation and WSU would have to self report themselves.

Steven Colbert was interviewed by Meredith Viera on the Today Show on March 19, 2009. At the close of the interview he cracks up the crew and flusters Mered...

I want so badly to respond to this, but I'm going to resist posting what I wanted to post.

                ShockBand,

Can you go into DOFO's account and change his name to FAIL?

If WSU fans can't set up a facebook page about a player without that being an NCAA violation, how can other schools have websites that talk to players about their interest in a school without that being a violation???

They are supporting a school and directly talking to the player about a school and his interest in that school.

Is a coach running it? Or could it also be open to more than just athletes?

The one's I'm talking about are specifically sports recruiting websites run by supporters of universities, I believe without coaches involvement.

                          Kentucky Sports Radio.

I think they skirt the rules by being "media members". Bruce and Bob could interview Shocker recruits all day because they're not "Boosters" but members of the media. The difference is that Kentucky Sports Radio makes no bones about their love for UK.

The most pathetic thing about this whole fiasco is that DOFO admitted doing it. Well, that isn't what's pathetic, so let me explain the pathetic in this, and it isn't pathetic in a Wichita State way, it's pathetic in a DOFO way. We all know how passionate of a Shocker fan that DOFO is, we all know how much he cares, we all know he spends hours making and editing WSU videos for YouTube. He probably sleeps on Wichita State sheets, Wichita State is his whole life. His brain drips Wichita State in everything he does. It is his life! Now, switching gears, we also know just how easy it is for the NCAA to consider you a booster. If you have bought a single ticket to a single Wichita State game in any event, you are condsidered a Wichita State booster for life. Just one ticket. Just one dollar in a fundraising bucket and you meet the criteria of booster.

Looking back to the Eagle article, Wichita State investigated the party behind the Facebook page and determined that the person did not meet the criteria of booster. So here is the pathetic, poor, poor DOFO, with all he cares, with all the time he spends on the subject of Wichita State, with everything that Wichita State is to poor little DOFO, he doesn't even rise up to the simple standard of being considered a booster!!!
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

I just want to say this. If anything happens the headline should read, "Irresistible Shocker twats are downfall of WSU" Thn just sit back and watch enrollment skyrocket

One more thing, I remember back in the old Valley Talk days, a similar situation occured. I hate discussing Matty P, or Matilda as you guys like to refer to him. But Matty P encouraged Creighton fans to start Twiitering a recruit and adding him as a friend on Facebook. I don't even remember who the recruit was, but it happened. Creighton made him cease and desist as well. Matty P. was scorned by Wichita State and Creighton fans alike for his stupid idea. Everyone knows that this is a very slippery slope. Everyone, except for DOFO and Matty P. that is.

DOFO and Matty P, two guys with similar inellectual capacities...
