I won't get into the old rehashed argument of how limiting your exposure to only a select few is the dumbest, low brow move you can make but I digress.

I watched a live volleyball match on the yurview website a few weeks ago, even though I have Uverse. Now, if the basketball games stream through it, instead of having the dumb ass blackout, then I guess that would be a small step in the right direction towards eliminating the shade that has been thrown on over half of the potential fanbase willing to watch over the last 15 years.

My TV guide box goes all the way through next Tuesday. Yurview says “your health” is on at 7pm that day, not the game. Hopefully it updates cause not seeing it there gives me anxiety.

You have to remember that this is an exhibition game and does not count as a win or a loss. Not much interest, I guess, for a school no one has heard of.

Some fans I’m sure would like to see the new team in any kind of action. They don’t care who the opponent is.

If there’s time and effort put forth to broadcast it, you might as well make it available to everybody.

When folks complain about cox I am reminded of what life was like before cox. I live in the Northeast part of kansas. Before cox you could not even get the shockers score in basketball on local television news. Heck you could not even get the score in the Kansas City Star or Topeka capital journal. Sometimes u could get it in the Wichita Eagle but if you got the early print you were out of luck. All we got was KU and K-State news. I sometimes had to call the eagle to just get the score.

I remember when we started getting WSU games on Cox. Helluuahaa. Sometimes we would get 12 games a year. I remember the KU fans being mad because Turgeon was doing those Spangle commercials on television.. See in this part of the State they hate WSU and act like we don't exsist. But it was hard for thier fans to see one of their own coaching at WSU and being on television. I am glad that now most of our games are on other channels because were in the AAC. I remember Ron Baker''s town being happy because they could see him on cox. I can never put WSU and cox down for giving the rest of us in the state a chance to see the Shockers.

As a fan I really don't know about these issues. I will watch the Shockers on whatever channel or channels I can get them. I do know for many years those of us living in the northeast part of the state got nothing on the shocks. And I mean NOTHING! Zero news. Before Cox there was channel 12 in Wichita for road games. I had to ride over to Emporia to watch the game in a sports bar. That was all we had. Sounds like the issues you raised need to be made with those in power at WSU. In the meantime I will continue to watch the shockers on any channel that shows my team.

As an out-of-stater...I have been able to watch 99% of Shocker games via ESPN3 through the Cox 22 channel for years now. Two questions if anybody can help:

1. This new YourView thing is still Cox 22 yes? Will those 4 games on YourView still be beamed out on ESPN3?????

2. These local blackouts you guys speak of sometimes...why would they blackout the games in Wichita and surrounding areas when the games are SOLD-OUT?????

2. Blackout locally only on ESPN3 because it's available locally on Cox. Cox doesn't block it out, ESPN has to so everyone locally must watch it on Cox. Thus the bickering.

Cox has a deal with Wichita State that derives from our MVC days (long time ago right) that our games that would not be on National TV would be shown on Cox 22, but if you are in the Wichita area you must have Cox as a service provider to watch the games, the Dodgers have a similar deal with Time Warner Cable. If you are not in the Wichita area you can watch it on ESPN3 or like me watched it on Fox Sports Midwest which also had the games when the Blues were not on.
