He has the pedigree and evidently lots of respect from the other coaches but winless in your conference after 3 years doesn't warrant continuing down that path. Maybe Tulane is a place where it will be a struggle to win for anyone. Andy Kennedy has already been mentioned as a possible replacement.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

That's embarrassing on so many levels. What a freaking joke. Bradley looks like a low-rent NAIA school with this crap.

      • People rag on Dickie V but everything he states about the selection process being rigged for the P5 is on point.

A little surprised by this as he has a very young team with 5 freshmen and 4 sophomores. The 2 seniors, while regular players in the rotation, only accounted for about 17 points per game.

You can't only win 4 games and zero conference games in your third year. Especially in a top 6 league

                • I know either Chris Jane or Steve Forbes could hold out for something better, but it would be nice to see one of them in the American and build up Tulane.

Maybe Forbes at Tulane and Jans at SMU when Timmy is fired.

Now I hope Bradley suffers the biggest beat down in Round 1 history. And ... I hope the Journal Star runs a single sentence article in the sports section every single day: "Per Bradley University's request, we will not be covering Bradley University sports any longer."

The best part of this, the Bradley board is extremely happy that they did this...

I would be freaking embarrassed if WSU did this. Even if it was to someone like Kunkel. Quit being soft

Their situation is kind of a no-win situation. If a new coach comes in and does well (or better) with Dunleavy's players and recruits, was it the new coach or the previous coach's players? If they don't win or do well, the old coaches players can be blamed, even though they may not be the problem. If the new coach cleans house some or loses some players, he'll make it very clear this may take several years to turn around.
It's simply a higher risk move when a team is so young. When a coach is let go because his own recruits never developed into a satisfactory level of play, that's a whole different situation. This year's best scorer, a sophomore, was a Dunleavy recruit. Senior Cornish (UNLV) and junior Sehic (Vandy) (2nd leading scorer) were D-I transfers that sat out Dunleavy's first year. Tulane's PG for the previous 2 years was 6'5" junior Embo who was injured all season after scoring over 10 ppg last year.
Assuming Embo returns next season, they have the makings of improving a lot. Wonder how our young team would have done had Burton got injured after a couple of games.

                        • Only thing more shocking than these stats is that someone else had a lower win percentage

Yes, without a mike. Or maybe he could replace Fran Fraschilla.

I don't mind if he has a mike, although he might not like where I think he should place it.

                          • I like John Thompson and his comments. He has said some incredible nice things about Wichita and WSU.
