Missouri Valley Examiner interview with ESPN's Andy Katz

I was fortunate enough to be able to do an interview with ESPN's Andy Katz for my site. I asked him questions about mid-majors, and threw in a few Valley-specific questions.

Bump.

The first four have been interesting. Basically asking three coaches about pay-for-play, recruiting periods, the early April 10 withdrawal date for NBA draft, and quick "how can you win your conference?" So far, they've had 24 coaches, with six more today.

Well worth your 30 minutes.

First question about recruiting and dates.

Marshall says rules are unclear on contact between parents and coaches during events. Wants to see some expanded dates.

Katz top 25 team? What do you have to do to win the league and the league tourney? Returning players. Lots of clips of Kyles dunking in Maui. Coach points out that they will be in and ESPN sponsored tourney in PR.

Basic stuff. But coach gets on TV wearing that beautiful Shocker yellow.

It was great to see HCGM on Friday night on ESPNU. I'm probably being picky, but I was disappoined to see him only get a few minutes at the end of the last program. Oh well - better than nothing!

Katz officially made the Shox the favorite in the Valley this season...
