According to FEMA: - Six inches of water will reach the bottom of most passenger cars, causing loss of control and potential stalling. - A foot of water will float many vehicles. - Two feet of rushing water will carry away most vehicles, including SUVs and pickups.
Do not fk around with moving water during heavy rain/flash flood periods. Everybody underestimates the power of moving current.

Funny you mention that. If you look at signs around Wichita, it reads "TURN AROUND, DONT DROWN (without the apostrophe in Don't). I mentioned that to a friend of mine who teaches English and is a stickler for grammar. She said that her uncle works for the City of Wichita and complained about that many times. Apparently, the sign makers are actually told to make them without punctuation.
