BTW -- next game is no break. Flamengo finished in a four-way tie for first last year in the top Brazilian pro league before bowing out in the semi-finals.

(By comparison, Palmieras was a 14-18 in the second-tier Paulista League, and didn't make the playoffs.)

Happily, swingman Marcelinho Machado, who was the league's leading scorer at 26.2 ppg; and center Caio Torres are listed on the National Team roster, so they'll likely be without their best two players.

Hall's double-double against this team is definitely legitimate. I don't think he'll see a front court as strong as this in the MVC. It appears he got a significant chunk of minutes. EO also appears to have gotten significant minutes - maybe more than Stutz..

As expected, Marshall seems to be taking a hard look at the front court rotation.

I think part of the reason Stutz hasn't seen significant minutes is that he re-aggravated his sprained ankle right before the trip.

I figured they would get manhandled vs National Brazil in Brazil (like every college team in America would.. no exceptions) as I stated when this tour was announced. It will hopefully pay off come March.

It appears Marshall is trying to maximize the minutes for the players without D1 experience. He's also giving the walkons a chance to play against international competition.

If our season is going to rely on a lot of minutes from Carl Hall, the Fr class, and EO, then our expectations are, indeed, a little high.

Marshall said that they played everyone in both games. They took 16 players along so if they played everyone, winning was not close to the top of their list of goals for the trip.

Player evaluation and development appear to be the keys on this trip (as they should be). Probably some bonding as well.

why does that bother you? he'll be our starting pg in two years. Id rather have him get PT than the walk ons that sit on the end of the bench and dont play

Not too much of a mention of anything. I read more than 1 account of the final score. I wouldn't worry much about who was mentioned. (Except Hall sounds OK)
