If he doesn't play with Van Vleet, he will be missing out big time. Van Vleet will make Anacreon/Egharevba into all-MVC'er's, for instance.

WSU is moving up fast, regardless if Ellis comes here or not. Now, somebody like Mo Evans in the 90's.. I really wanted WSU to sign him, because they needed help in the worst way. :-x But these days.. OK, so-and-so doesn't want to come to Wichita State.. Ragland to Carl Hall or Van Vleet to Carl Hall will do just fine, thank you. :posterwu:

I was glad to read that article in the paper. I really hope Ellis does choose to go to WSU.

HCGM is building a program at WSU and the Shockers will be fine if Ellis goes elsewhere, but it would be nice to see Ellis start a trend of the best Wichita talent going to the Shockers. Once again though HCGM is building WSU into a strong program and the Shockers are moving up even if the local talent thinks they need to go to what they perceive as greener pastures or not.

Ellis is the highest regarded recruit to come out of Wichita since Korleon Young graduated 12 years ago and the best player to go to college in a couple of decades. In the past, WSU was in desperate need of top 200 players and we weren't able to land them, not the in state ones and not the Wichita kids. Now, comperable players (whether or not they're actually rated that high) line the WSU roster from top to bottom and we have a real shot at signing a bonefide McDonald's AA!

If we don't land Perry, WSU will still be in fine shape, but Perry has the opportunity to vault WSU into the national spot-light with post season results and could possibly solidify the Shockers as one of those mid-majors where top 50 players WANT to be (i.e. Gonzaga, Butler).

If Perry stays home or goes abroad, this will be quite an exciting time for WSU recruiting with the possible additions of Gavin, Buddy, or Ceanthony and the already verballed VanVleet.

I didn't forget Henry, and while I'm excited to have him, I place him more in the project category. I consider the others listed as those that are likely to make an immediate impact. That is not intended to be a slight on Henry as he has huge upside, but I am doubtful we will see any glimpses of that for more than a few years.

Do you have something against Ellis? He has the opportunity to be POY in the MVC as a freshman. As much as I like the personnel on this team, they are not PE...or do you disagree with that? Serious question because I just don't understand where you are coming from.

I can't see it either wufan. I am certainly of the camp that WSU will be just fine even if Perry doesn't come to us, but there is a world of difference between thinking that we will be good without Perry and thinking that we would be as good without him as we would be with him.

There is two interpretations to your replay:

1. If Ellis doesn't sign with wsu, wsu has somebody equivalent to replace him with or

2. Ellis is not game changing talent to make a difference in the program.

I don't think many would agree with your sentiment.
