  • Jeff ******* tweet on Ellis visits

I don't think the lack of a visit is any big deal for WSU since he has lived in Wichita his entire life. Going to be a fun trip I think.

Though it's been reported that Wichita State was a finalist for Perry Ellis, it appears the forward will not take an official visit to the school. Perhaps since he has lived in Wichita and knows the school well, there might not have been a need. But the recent tweet from Jeff ******* of CBSSports.com that details Ellis' official visits' list could mean the soon-to-be senior has narrowed his choices. Ellis will travel to Memphis, Lawrence, Manhattan, Durham and Lexington within the next coming months.

We have written extensively on the recruitment of Ellis so it will be interesting to hear his thoughts after seeing the schools officially. Ever since Jeff Capel joined the Duke coaching staff, the Blue Devils have been intensely pursuing the 6-foot-8 forward. Similarly, Kansas has been a leader, under the eyes of assistant Danny Manning and Bill Self; after losing out of LeBryan Nash, DeAndre Daniels and other key bigs in the class of 2011, Ellis (along with Kaleb Tarczewski) has to be a top target.

Kansas State, Memphis and Kentucky have also been at the forefront of Ellis' recruitment so a commitment to any of the five schools would not be a surprise.

    Yep

Agreed -- this is of no significance. By the time Ellis decides, he will most likely have spent more time in his life on the WSU campus than on all the others combined, so if he's serious about all six, this is perfect for him --he doesn't need to waste a trip to see all of them.

Someone tweeted that Ellis actually lives 1 mile from WSU campus, so he could literal walk to their campus if he wanted to.

It was also disputed by his mother that the tweet was not accurate.

        Thanks for stopping by.

I would be willing to drop a large sum of Benjamins that he will not be departing to Manhattan.

I honestly think WSU is higher on his list than Kitten State.

I wouldn't fault Perry if he went to the Dukies or KWho, both of which exceed Kentuck in my book. I'd be upset if picked Memphis over WSU (also bewildered given his choices). However, if he picked the Mild Kitties over WSU and the others, well.....don't let the door hit your backside, lock it, and throw away the key cause there ain't no reason to ever come through it again.

I was just posting what I had seen on all the listed schools boards and had not seen it here. Who knows how accurate it is.

              You're welcome.

That would be one of our biggest draw backs I would think. I'm sure his family and friends wouldn't mind watching every game...but I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to go play ball away from home.

If I'm not mistaken, his sister played at Memphis, and he went to every single midnight madness they've had that his sister participated in. He actually probably is closest to their school and staff than any other if it came down to it.

*******'s tweet is actually that the six schools are his likely official visits. He doesn't claim the information came from Perry. I don't believe there is one person who thinks Perry is going to Oklahoma. Lon isn't even recruiting Perry is he? There is no reason to take an official to WSU. It doesn't cost any money to get there. That leaves the five schools ******* listed. A no brainer.

If there's one school in Kansas that Ellis has on his list just to be geographically nice - it'd be Tractor Tech... no doubt.

Did't say he wasn't, although he probably does know the WSU staff better.

That said, I stand by my statement. Duke, KU, Kentucky, and my hometown Shockers (who's probably now on close par with the Tigers) vs Memphis where my sister plays and who I've met the staff several times. Sorry, I think bewildered fits.
