I thought it was weird that he wasn’t at the auction. Makes sense now.

Good luck to Kyle. Someone capable will fill his seat.

Minnesota lost 2 assistants this spring and looks like Pitino has had past dealings with Lindsted.

A 6'11" center, Konate will join the Gophers following a standout career at the Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita, Kan. Under the tutelage of head coach Kyle Lindsted and assistant coach Luke Barnwell, Konate is praised by the Minnesota coaches for his strong work ethic and athleticism. The Mali native can shoot from distance, but is also lauded for his rebounding and shot blocking ability.

Gophers also have another Sunrise player in Jr Dupree McBrayer.

Note: IMO, this seems more of a lateral move for Lindsted. Take that however you wish.

              Very likely.

3G has had pretty good luck in the past with hiring assistants who were successful Juco coaches. I think both Chris Jans and Greg Heiar had that background.

I wonder if Ricky Torres' coach and Wichita NW grad Chris Popp might be someone 3G might consider as a replacement, He has a decent amount of experience at the D-II and Juco level.

Forbes also had some high level JUCO success.

Without knowledge about the dollars he received here and will receive there, it’s difficult to know whether it is a lateral move. It’s not just moving from an Assistant job to another. I will say that Linsted was the least worrisome to move to me because of f his family history with WSU. But we don’t know everything.

This one does indeed hurt. Kyle did a great job for us in recruiting and will be missed.

Look. We have seen the magic that can happen when all the parts fit together. The players and coaches that are leaving quite obviously didn’t fit. No ill will to them, but GTFO. Opportunity to upgrade.
