  • Just as a comparison, Wichita State versus the entire MVC in regular season broadcast games:

    CBS or CBS Sports Network
    Entire MVC = 8 games
    WSU = 12 games

For the fourth-straight year, CBS Sports Network will televise a package of Missouri Valley Conference men’s basketball games, including the State Farm MVC Tournament semifinals as well as eight regular-season contests, MVC Commissioner Doug Elgin announced today.

      • I noticed that we only have 12 non-con games again, aren't we supposed to have 13?

Nope. There are 28 dates for teams to schedule. One of those dates can be an exempt tourney which can be from 2-4 games. The Charleston Classic is only an 8 team main bracket so, just 3 games in the tournament, leading to a 30 game schedule.

                • Interesting programming note ....

WSU at Tulane on Saturday, March 9

Toronto Raptors at New Orleans Pelicans on Friday, March 8

Nice WSU two-fer. Also, New Orleans is, um, fun.
“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

You could make it a full week in The Big Easy and celebrate Mardi Gras on the previous Tuesday.

Does anyone know anything about this event or did she (Sister Jean) mean to say Winona State

"...For anyone planning to attend Loyola’s opening exhibition game against Wichita State, she has some advice: “You’re going to have to come early because the Gentile (Arena) is going to be packed,..”

                      • An excellent expose by Taylor of why the Shockers playing in the AAC is vastly superior to the current MVC. I can not wait for this season to unfold; I am hopeful we Shocker fans will be pleasantly surprised with how well the Shockers play.

The Quadrant system which if you don't know goes like this:

                          Quadrant 1: Home 1-30; Neutral 1-50; Away 1-75
                          Quadrant 2: Home 31-75; Neutral 51-100; Away 76-135
                          Quadrant 3: Home 76-160; Neutral 101-200; Away 136-240
                          Quadrant 4: Home 161-plus; Neutral 201-plus; Away 241-plus.

Last year, the Sel. Committee used RPI as the rank for these. Now, it is using it's new NET rating system, but the same quadrants.
