  • Rosenblatt Auction

Before you go "correcting" this thread to the baseball forum ---

Was scanning through the upcoming auction for Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha -- one of the lots includes of all things, tapes of four Wichita State Basketball games from recent history, all labeled "Cox Television".

Might be an interesting pick-up for someone...

Bid in a Proxibid online auction to acquire a Old Tapes Of Miscellaneous Games (5) From The Press Box, Include 2005 CWS G from Omaha Zoo Foundation.

WSU vs. Illinois St, Bradley, Evanvsille, Mo State and Iona. Looks like from 2009. The dates on the UE and MSU games match, but Iona? Can't find that we've played them recently, particularly on 11-15-2009.

Did we not play them in one of the early season tournaments? If we didn't, I'm not sure who I'm thinking of. Was wanting to say it was in Orlando, but my brain still isn't fully functioning this morning after a late night of softball

Sub you are thinking of Siena. A great game that came down to the buzzer, and Andy Katz had to eat crow when interviewing GM after the game.

That's the one. I didn't think Iona was right but I couldn't think of anyone else. A fun game that was.

The Iona game has a date of 11-19-08 on it. I looked up the women's basketball schedule for 2008/2009 season and saw this:

            Sun, Nov 23 - Iona WICHITA 66 - 64 (W)

So the day misses by 4 days ... but .. mystery solved?
