I think North Carolina A&T, Colorado State, Oregon, and Duke would have something to say about Louisville's tournament credits being split between just WSU and Michigan.

Good point. Split 'em 6 ways.

Even if there in no National Champion for the year 2013, nor a Dual Championship either, does our Final 4 Status change to Final 2?

If I understand NCAA rules correctly, nothing will change for us. We don't even get to remove the loss from our record.

P.S. I also think it's really stupid that we and all the other teams that lost the games UL must vacate have to keep those losses on their records. I don't think a team should necessarily get to claim a win, but our record for the final four year should go from 30-9 to 30-8 for example.
Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

Wow, I assumed that was the case anyway. If Louisville didn't win the game, who is the 9th team we lost to?

I'm not interested in claiming a title we didn't earn, but I'm all for removing the loss from our tourney %.

Yeah, vacating wins does nothing. Even vacation a championship in the grand scheme of things doesn't really do anything.

They should have a few years of postseason ban and stripping a scholarship or two. Hit em where it really hurts. Also, major LOL at the little $5000 fine.

The real fine is the 15 million or so in NCAA credits they have to return.

I can’t wait until KU has to vacate every win in the last 14 years

With the additional problems UL is facing with the NCAA, going on record as stating the NCAA is wrong is probably not a brilliant move. Once all the appeals are done and there's a final ruling, the best thing is to probably say something like, "we reluctantly accept the NCAA's ruling in this matter" and NOT "we think the NCAA is wrong and strongly maintain that position".

So...If UofL has offered strippers/escorts to the entire student body, not just student-athletes, would they still be 2013 champs?

That was one defense option. They chose "throw someone under the bus," though. No takesiebacksies.

Except for their title. I guess that got takesiebacksied.

              Good summary.

Louisville was forced to vacate a national title. And the Cardinals still have more problems on the horizon. All of it revolves around a disgraced Hall of Fame coach who is no longer there.
