    NCAA is still RPI centric. It is looking like it won't be till next year where they move away RPI. But they have revised the team sheets where they have added additional metric. They have also broken up the results into 4 quandrants which emphasize road/neutral wins more than home wins.

    For example in Q1
    Home: Record versus 1-30
    Neutral: Record versus 1-50
    Away: Record versus 1-75

    WSU looks very good in Q2, Q3 and Q4. WSU Q1 needs some work (or teams like Marquette, ND, OSU and Baylor to quit sucking).

      Notre Dame is lost in sea. Too many inquires. I wish the committee would look at rankings of teams at game time. Then our wins would be nice.

        Notre Dame is not without a brand. Anyone who pays the slightest amount of attention knows Bonzie Colson was an All American who got hurt and Farrell too to a lesser extent. Just recently, Jay Bilas who pays attention remarked that we had no bad losses. I think that most basketball observers know that.

          This entire thread can be summed up by:

          Just beat Cinci.

            Our resume is weak sauce right now.
            Q1 = Home 1-30, Neutral 1-50, Away 1-75
            Q2 = Home 31-75, Neutral 51-100, Away 76-135
            Q3 = Home 76-160, Neutral 101-200, Away 136-240
            Q4 = Home 161+, Neutral 201+, Away 241+

            xx seed in Year: Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4
            ?? seed in 2018: 1-3, 9-2, 3-0, 5-0
            10 seed in 2017: 2-3, 1-1, 12-0, 14-0
            11 seed in 2016: 2-3, 1-5, 11-0, 9-0
            07 seed in 2015: 2-2, 5-2, 8-0, 12-0
            01 seed in 2014: 4-0, 8-0, 11-0, 10-0
            09 seed in 2013: 3-3, 5-3, 9-2, 9-0
            05 seed in 2012: 4-3, 7-2, 9-0, 6-0

            Now, please tell me how this year's resume is "weak sauce". 10 Q1+Q2 wins is the most WSU has had in a single year since 2014, and if they can pick up 3 more (out of likely 6-7 more opportunities), it will be the most Q1+Q2 wins in a single season by any Marshall coached team.

              Marquette picks up a big win @ Seton Hall, but has practically no chance at a 50 RPI, which is needed to get them into Q1 territory.

                But their win does give Seton Hall another loss which helps us as they could be a seed competitor.

                Yes to the Seton Hall loss being good for WSU.

                Also, prior to last night, Marquette's chances were... 4% Q1, 89% Q2, 7% Q3. The win pretty much eliminated any chance of them falling to Q3, and Q1 is up to a little over 10% chance now.

              Shoxthemonkey knows what we need come March. I’m more of a rum guy, so I’ll be drinking Captain Morgan Private Stock.

              I think the black mark is the potential to finish with the worst Q1 record since 2012, current at 25% (lowest 40% in 2016/2017). We have up to 3 games vs Cincinnati if we both get to the AAC tournament final, 1 vs SMU, and possibly one more vs SMU or Houston in the AAC tournament. We have to perform in those games, ideally getting at least 3 of 5 and improving to 4-5 in Q1. The team will need to find a way to peak at the right time.

                1-3 vs Q1 is a pretty soft "black mark" when paired with 9-2 vs Q2.

              Its beyond obvious now. Any more benefit of the doubt given or are we gonna continue to allow the hit-and-run pot shots?

              Once again, this stuff was spotted a mile away.

                    SMU would get a huge RPI boost with a win tonight.

                    Houston, not so much.

                      Hoping for SMU to finish well is fools gold at this point.

                      What happens if Houston wins all but Houston going forward?
