  • What we need come March...

Our resume is weak sauce right now.

    Here is what we need.

    Houston's RPI goes from 37-30.

    Marquette's RPI goes from 61-50.

Oklahoma State's RPI goes from 105-75.

    Baylor's RPI stays above 75.

    Oklahoma's RPI stays above 30.

    SMU's RPI stays above 75.

    Weak sauce? Compared to who?

    Disagree completely.

I'm sure Jamar will be able to provide a pretty healthy rebuttal.

In terms of Q1 wins yeah, we have 9, I repeat 9 Q2 wins. We need some more Q1 wins.

Jamar Howard 4 President I'll take the highest quality win in RPI.

              2018: 1-3
              2017 (pre-NCAA): 2-4
              2016 (pre-NCAA): 1-2
              2015 (pre-NCAA): 2-2

FadedCrown, your numbers are mixing standards.
For this year, you are showing the new 1-30home, 1-50neutral, 1-75away = Quadrant 1
For all past years, you are showing vs 1-50 for all sites = Quadrant 1

Let me make a separate post showing the new Quadrant 1,2,3,4 system for this year AND as if they had done so the past several years too.

You know the committee is emphasizing different metrics this year, right?

No, they put the metrics on the team sheets. They might glance at them put 90% of the seeding is based on RPI.

Again, who are you comparing WSU's resume to? You didn't answer the question.

Weak sauce is implying that WSU is in danger of missing the tournament which isn't the case. It's not a top-notch resume but it's not garbage either. WSU has more Tier 2 wins than anybody else. They have 6 road wins. They have ZERO bad losses. They have an RPI of 23. They have a SOS of 59. And that's RPI, not Ken Pom. Ken Pom only strengthens the resume further.

You could've came in and made this thread about what is needed to strengthen WSU's resume, but to flat out call it "weak sauce" is simply not accurate.

Again, please give me some other resumes of similar nature to compare to see how "bad" WSU's is.

We might not have that signature win yet but we do have some very good wins. Winning road games at Oklahoma State, Baylor, Tulsa we’re good wins. KU beat Baylor by 4 at home and got schooled by OSU. Tulsa beat a decent Kansas State who has had some nice wins in the big 12 who all the pundits say is the mightiest league out there. We beat a good Marquette team out of the mighty big east. Splitting with a very good Houston team is good. This has been a challenging sc

Next week will be interesting. Cinncy has a tough road swing going to Houston and SMU. We have Connecticut and a rematch with Temple at home. In 10 days things could look a lot different

I assume that analysis is meant to help improve seeding. Not to protect from missing the tournament.

Yes this is meant purely for seeding.

Not worried about making the tournament, just don't be surprised when we're seeded 2 lines lower than we think we deserve to be. Why? It's not about who you've played - it's about who you've beaten. Our best win is Marquette or @Baylor. Just be prepared.

Still can get 2-3 wins vs Cincinnati.
