We don't know exactly how many home games we have yet, so it is unclear how much the seat price per game went up. SASO levels went up an average of about 6%. Blame that on the University for tuition inflation. Out of state tuition is double in state. Now many MVC schools limit the number of out of state athletes to contain costs. Not so at WSU. Therefore our out of state tuition bill is the highest in the Valley. The fact that we win so many all sports trophies attests to the wisdom of this policy.

The $600,000 gap is the closest to break even the athletic dept has come in many years. The SASO board is to be commended for its excellent work. The closer to break even SASO comes, the more money the dept has to upgrade facilities, hire good coaches and give more assets to minor sports.

Two sets of fans have to join SASO to buy tix. Men's BB and Baseball. We need women's BB to become more successful so they can be added to the SASO mandatory. Would love for volleyball fans to have to be SASO members also, but obviously they think that is not yet feasible.

Is this true? I have never seen anything that states there is a compulsory SASO donation as a prerequisite to my baseball season tickets.

It's for parking. If you don't want to walk a mile to go the baseball game then you can give at the level just below Bold Gold and get decent parking at the Eck.

I joined SASO a few years ago so that I wouldn't have to walk so far anymore going to baseball games.

Gotcha. We've always been Bold Gold or higher, so we've always had the baseball parking permit. I guess I never thought about that being a baseball SASO contribution.
