I remember back in 2003 the benchback seats section 125-126? were $180 each and did not require SASO above row 28, not sure if its still like that or not.

The low ball SASO row 28 and above for others were $100 in 2003, the low ball now is $250.

Lower bowl Row 15 seats are now $330.

Factor in the now annual SASO donation increases and the total increase is rather dramatic, especially for the upper tier SASO / lower bowl seats. We're now paying almost $1000 per seat for season tickets including all items.

Honestly, taking the ticket price alone the per game price is around $20 and in my opinion, worth my entertainment dollar. I wondered if the increase also has factored in the liklihood that there will be more home games in '11-'12 than there was in '10-'11.

RDR - Taking this out on ticket office personnel is shooting the messenger, don't you think. Undoubtedly, these types of increases come from far higher in the food chain, with ultimate approval from the AD. If you don't want to pay their price, don't. They won't have any trouble selling your seats to an eager wait-lister.

      1. I did not say that a ticket office clerk was in charge of pricing policy.
      2. I did not say that I did not want to purchase the tickets.
      3. I did not take anything out on the ticket office clerk. Call and ask him. His name is Bryant.

Apparently, you scan read my message and missed the salient points as follows:

      1. The price of tickets has increased.

      2. For humor, I stated there was run away inflation at WSU.

You may have way too much starch in your collar.

And lastly, I do not need your lecture on organizational structure (food chain) and marketing policy (pricing).

The price to watch a product who has made it to 1 NCAA Tournament in my season ticket lifetime is getting tougher to take.

It's the price you have to pay if you want to play the game.

When you review the particulars, it really is a simple case of economics.

You were informed a couple of weeks ago, tickets for the upcoming season would be scarce.

The most basic example of supply and demand is in full effect.

I figure that if I don't want to pay for the tickets, there are people behind me that are willing to take my seats. my advice is to pony up

Just a reminder that SASO pays for all the athletic scholarships for all of the sports.

And tuittion costs have increased. In addition, the NCAA changed how schools must account for certain housing costs which increased the amounts.

Even with these increases, the amount raised by SASO doesn't pay for all of the scholarhips and must be supplemented by the athletic department. I think the gap is $600,000?

There are very, very few SASO contributors who don't buy season tickets.

Just curious how many on here write checks to SASO who are not basketball season ticket holders.

You could put a poll in each section of the board and use the honor system for responders to vote in only one poll. Better yet, put the poll in the any one section and then put a link to that poll in a separate thread in each other section, that way a person would be notified to vote in the pol from whatever section of the board interests them.

If you don't already have season tickets, how much of an initial donation do you have to give to get season tickets?

Well, my brother gets 4 season tickets (row 2 and 4), and paid $4600 with the SASO contribution, which seems high to me. He was going to drop them until the Shocks won the NIT championship. BTW, he has had season tickets ever since 1967.

There is no initial "buy-in". If there are seats available, you can start your SASO donation at whichever level the seats dictate. Something like $200-$250 is the minimum SASO donation and you can buy upper level bench seats. I believe lower bowl tickets require Guardian level donation or above about $2500 or so.

Check with the ticket or SASO office to confirm.

Have season tickets been sold out the last few years and if so is there a waiting list?

Last year there wasn't a waiting list as I was getting emails offering season tickets last summer.
