  • The only MVC team to lose today

SIU at Charlotte. And they got beat by 15. At one point Charlotte scored 20 straight points.

If you'll recall, Charlotte lost to Monmouth at the Paradise Jam.

Hey, SubGod, does it surprise you that SIU was 6-26 (23%) from 3-pt range? I didn't think so. :D

And it probably didn't help that Falker fouled out in 21 minutes of play, with 0 points.

we were the only MVC to lose last night. Until further notice, SIU has my respect. I say WSU passes them with a year or two. BOOK IT>

As a league, all these early Valley loses are mounting up and are going to come back and bite us come NCAA selection time.

Still too early to tell, but right now all signs are pointing to the Valley being a one bid league this year.

Obviously, we need to get deep into the Valley schedule to know for sure, I'm starting to think it could be a real dog fight between the top 6-8 teams and we could really do a lot of damage to each other. The lack of quality non-con wins, combined with the Valley scenario I just described could definitely occur.

Having said that, I like our chances if that is the case.

            Not one bit.

I'd like to hear what happened to Falker though. Was he in foul trouble really early and just not given a chance to get into the flow of the game? Was Charlotte just sitting back and daring SIU to rain threes? (I know I would) Or did he just have a really poor game all around? SIU won't have much, if any, success with that type of game from him. Especially with that one guard running around that can't shoot from anywhere on the court. His shot is brutal. I just wish I could think of his name...

Charlotte employed the defense SIU will see every game the rest of the year ... double Falker and dare another Saluki to hit a shot.

As for the name you're missing, you have to be more specific. We have a lot of guards running around that can't shoot from anywhere on the court. ;-)

There's one in particular. He has one of the most horrific looking shots for a guard I've ever seen. He may be a left even I'm not sure. I remember watching the USC game and his defender played in the paint while he was running around the perimeter scared to shoot. And when he did shoot I knew why he didn't want to. I may just have to go look at a roster and see if the name jumps out at me.

Tyrone Green is his name. A senior defensive specialist.
He was the reason SIU lost by 25 to USC. Ask 90% of Saluki Talk and they'll tell ya that! :(
