New conference, new venue's, probably difficult to game plan for tendencies of the other team with no prior history, away game. Shox by 2 and I'm happy with the win.

There is lots of film available. As far as I know, the video is unbiased as to which conference is being video'd. Each of the new conference teams has the same amount (limited or unlimited, however you see it) on the Shocks as we do on any of them. We are preparing for one team at a time, not an entire conference. Why do you imply this to be a disadvantage to WSU?

The fact that we don't know how they make adjustments as the game progresses when WE play them and do what WE do. Obviously you can watch tape all day long and game plan that way but if you play a team and a coaching staff twice or three times a year over a period of 8 years or so it would give you a better feel for how the other coach makes his adjustments. This implication only comes from HCCL in his summary of his first season through the AAC and how it was difficult for the VB team in this respect, But I'm sure he didn't watch any film on his upcoming opponents. But you are right it was MY opinion that it might be tougher and YOU have your opinion that it makes no difference.

Good point on adjustments, but they have to adjust to how HCGM adjusts also. All I was saying is that if it is tougher, it is equally tougher on both teams. There is no reason that I can see to assume it is tougher on WSU than on the opponent. But as you say, you see it as you see it, and that's okay.

Coach Jones knows the American. Non conference schedule should have em ready. I don't think we will see anything better than OU , Notre Dame or Baylor. Early games on the East Coast concern me a bit but SHOX should prevail point spread don't concern me. Guys will be motivated to "Play Angry" first game in American, on the road, and the name on the jersey work to our advantage.

I'm guessing Vegas will put the good guys at -12, and I fully expect Wichita State to cover. I think the break will be good to us, and we will put together our best basketball performance against a regressing team.

              Gregg Marshall - 82
The program that's going to be looking for a new coach next year - 64

The way the talk is going, it might be sooner than next year.

I wonder if Ramon will be invited into the locker room for a pre game motivational speech. He always played with a lot of heart here. I also believe MM will have family and friends in attendance as well. Go Shox. I'll still be glad for a one point victory on the road.

I forcast we will win by 7 or 8 and Shockernet will again go in to full meltdown mode. MM will have 12 pts , 7 rbs, 3 stls, and 2 to's in 19 minutes. Ooops, add a couple of assists.

From some of the interviews with Shamet, he's not 100% yet.

Any time there is an extended period of only light use of a leg, muscle atrophy occurs. It is logical that the biggest basketball issue would be pushing off with his right leg to move laterally to his left, which is the exact move needed to stop dribble penetration. Defense of dribble penetration has been an issue this year. As Shamet's muscles recover to their normal strength, that should be less of a problem.

If Shamet is still recovering, McDuffie is likely to undergo the same recovery period. The ability to get on the court does little to indicate the ability to play at a high level. McDuffie fell a few times against FGCU. Weakened leg muscles cause runners to fall as they adjust to the weaker muscle. Runners lean forward. Maximum speed is attained when the legs can just keep the body upright. With a weakened leg muscle, the mind still creates the familiar lean. If the legs can't compensate for the lean, the runner will fall down. McDuffie will not be as fast, as quick, or as explosive in moves as we (and he) are accustomed to seeing and that will compromise his ability to play D at a high level.

The turnaround on D is coming, but it's likely to be mid-February before we see the D we're accustomed to seeing from the Shox.

Lindsted has the scout for this game.

Curious as to what interviews lead you to believe he's not 100% yet.

I believe HCGM mentioned that LS wouldn't admit it, but GM didn't think he was 100% yet.

UCONN is a disaster. Ollie's gotta go. There is no hope (of even being competitive) until he gets the boot.
