Love the new guys coming in. Lots of size and length. We get lomax and I’d say we have arguably the best class in the league

Connecticut signed a 4* PG, 4* C, and a 3* SG. They probably will out rank WSU barring any surprises.

247sports ranks UConn 34, WSU 37, Houston 50, USF 51, East Carolina 57, and Cinci, Tulane, and SMU between 90 and 100.

We had MVC schools in the past outrank WSU, I’m not worried about rankings

I’m also not worried about rankings, but I️ wanted to put it in context with the rest of our new conference mates.

If if you go to the 247 site, Lomax and Chance Moore are around 150. Udeze is about 250 and Stephenson is in the 300s. They list Brown as part of the 2018 class around 200, but Chandler is listed as 2017 with a ranking in the 180s. Echenique is not ranked being that he is a JUCO.

We also cannot forget that Marshall adds about a star to these guys. See Shamet, Landry. VanVleet, Fred. Baker, Ron.

Moving past rankings, they don't rank the intangibles very well (if they even do rank them). Athleticism and basketball skills are important but intelligence, bbiq, coachability, hard workability, self-scarifice, toughness, etc. are things they just don't rank very well. Marshall and his staff do a great job at ranking those characteristics.

IMO given the athletic ability and personal qualities HC3G seeks/demands from his team members, he will never recruit a one-and-done 5* high schooler.

Thus, his most recent recruiting class may be close to the zenith of any future recruitment class he brings to WSU. If LS and/or MM leaves for the NBA draft after this season, then that is the likelihood for us Shocker fans to witness in the coming future - HC3G will develop in 2/3 years players who the NBA will draft prior to completion of their college eligibility, despite the fact that none of the Blue Bloods chasing one-and-done players were interested in giving such players a scholarship.

I think we have offered a Jeffries (Lawson relative and the name may be wrong) who is a 5* from Memphis so NEVER may be a strong word. RARE and purposeful would definitely be correct. He may not be a one and doner so you still may be correct.
