    ADES can start by hiring a new softball coach.
    Besides the players, parents and boyfriends/girlfriends no one really cares about softball so who the coach is makes no difference.

    They could use one of the security guards and it would not make any difference.
    Let's hope he can hit a D-1 Curve ball!

      You've been taking too many deep breaths in your home town SS.

      Any athletic program that has the school's name on the jersey does indeed make a difference. If you're going to have a team, make it a good one.

        I wish you were at lunch today, so that you could give us more detailed information about how you feel.

          I'm sure the University of Arizona agrees with you.....

            The UA averages over 2,000 "parents and boyfriends/girlfriends" a game. Attend a UA-UCLA game at Hillenbrand stadium and you will find out what college softball is about.

              Now if we could somehow recruit a Jennie Finch clone softball might just morph into a revenue sport.

                I have not been very high on ADES. I blamed him for clevin hanna being suspended for the first three games last year and most likely causing WSU to be left out of the NCAA field of 64.

                I blamed him for the Johnny Coy debacle.

                And I was not very impressed with the welcome home get together he was patting himself on the back for.

                But I will give him his props for the HCGM contract extension.

                :good:

                  Sure doesn't hurt attendance to have that kind of eye candy on the mound and she won 70 straight games. No small feat in the PAC in softball.

                      Agreed. I hope this was directed at Shirley. I said my comment dripping with sarcasm. I think you picked it up.

                              I know Eric pretty well and, after reading this board for the past few years often wondered why some fans were so hard on him. Since he has been the AD, he has:
                              1. kept the major revenue producing coaches in tact;
                              2. kept the Athletic Dept. out of scandal like has happened at KSU and KU over recent years;
                              3. Kept the money flowing. I have heard the basketball program doesn't spend their budget every year;
                              4. Hired an great new Assistant, the guy that was an assistant to Mark Gottried, that guy is a major upgrade from Pracht.

                              The issue with Clevin Hannah was a typo, and yes, technically it goes back on the AD, but didn't the error actually occur when Schaus was still in charge? If not, it was right at the beginning of Eric's tenure, he was probably still trying to find his way around the place whent that happened.

                              I think the guy has done pretty well to this point. If at some point he has to hire a new basketball coach, believe me, that won't be done without plenty of prior research and effort.

                                Schaus was an "out in the public eye" guy. Sexton is a "behind the scenes" guy. He seems easy to work with or more coaches would have left.

                                Speaking of softball...

                                Jamie Hull plays 1B if you like a seat on the right field line.

                                If you prefer sitting behind the plate:

                                Holly Eckert catches.

                                Rachel Milnark is a middle infieldsr (2B/SS)

                                Or maybe you prefer sitting on the third base side:

                                Sammie Shook is over there (3B/SS)

                                Or maybe Hayley Temple (2B/3B)
                                The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
                                We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.
