Not sure what the capacity of AJ's but that will be a tough ticket to get, especially of you can't be there fairly early. On top of the fans that will be gathering, I suspect a full cadre of local press will be there (assuming Gregg will be participating in person).

Perhaps they should require a Sedgwick County Zoo pass for admission.

GGG likes the limelight. A special announcement on an impromptu radio show oozes limelight. He's "the man in Wichita" right now and he knows it. Thus you get the 'special announcement' to say you're not breaking your contract and in fact staying at your place of current employment.
I hope you are right. I like him being "the man in Wichita". I damn sure don't want him "the man in Raleigh". They don't deserve him, and wouldn't appreciate him for what he can do.

I doubt he would say he is leaving in a public setting where beer bottles could be thrown.

And it eliminates the need for a press conference or a pep rally like Turgeon had when he announced he was staying. However, it will be interesting to see if the show tonight does not turn into an impromptu press conference... 8)

To announce the university president, athletic director, and angel boosters are acting in the best interest of our alma mater by responding external market conditions...

It is not just impacting Wichita - I have been watching this from Louisville all day as well.

Well if you get to AJ's and there is chickenwire strung between the crowd and Mike and 3G's table then we may have a problem.

Hit the nail on the head right there. He won't announce he's leaving on his own radio show, in a public setting, after telling everyone in the town where the show's going to be and at what time.

The "I'm taking X job" announcement comes at a press conference in Koch Arena with only the local media in attendance.

If so, that's a pretty typical thing for a coach who isn't on the hot seat to do after the season.
