I think White will do well at WSU. Do I think he could play SF? Maybe in the Big 10. He's not quick enough to guard 6-3 slashing guards in the MVC. Now, maybe if Stutz and EO are patrolling the paint, we could go zone and add White to the floor, but I think his future at WSU is as a Kyle Wilson/Rob Kampman type of PF.

4th Team Parade AA is a huge deal by the way. Dude would be a 4 star player had he signed with a Big 10 program.

No doubt. For comparison, just take a gander at last season's 4th team. I posted about last week when this news broke.

There are 10 players. 7 played substantial minutes or were IMPACT players on BCS teams such as UCLA, California, Villanova, Florida State and Michigan State to name a few. 2 others were juniors and their stock rose even higher this year as they both found their way on the Parade list again, and will attend marginal college programs in Kentucky and North Carolina. The 10th committed some atrocity that precipitated his removal from West Virginia's team before he scored a single point.

Jake will be an outstanding player, and I can't wait to see him on campus.

Yes, White will need to beef up and he will have a big adjustment to make. As long as they don't SHATTER his confidence, playing against Stutz, EO, and Hall will make him VERY GOOD!

Stutz and Hall start. They get as many minutes as they can handle and EO and White are back-ups.

SF, I think Murry starts along side Kyles and Smith is 6th man of the year. Wouldn't suprise me though if Murry was SG and Smith started at SF.

Ditto. Even though we are certainly losing a lot in the front court, I also really like the way our lineup looks for next year, at least on paper. Williams, Kyles or Smith, White, and Ehimen; that is a really solid bench.

Stays or goes, it's premature. Roster is not set either way. If he stays we will probably will not get another potential starter, but a significant player is certainly possible.

And I'm still hopefull that either Wessel or Cotton can get enough time to not be redshirted. It'd be nice having someone with game experience back the next year. Unless TRich is ready to step up and allow both to sit.

I don't know if it's because he only sees the floor with walk-ons or what but Tyler Richardson looks a little lost out there. I wish we could have seen him a few times on the floor without Walker, Orukpe, and Brown this year. No offense to those guys just made it hard to judge Tyler's ability.

I'm by no means banking on Tyler for the same reasons you listed. I just don't like the idea of starting the 12-13 season with ONE guy in the backcourt with any game experience. I'm hopeful that Wessel demands about 10 minutes or so a game this coming year.

we had this year. Not enough minutes to go around.

Wessel, White, Hall, Cotton, and Orukpe all seem to be players who need some minutes next year.

White appears to be a player like Doug McDermott, if he can adjust to D1 ball the way McDermott did. He appears to be a backup until his Jr. year. That's mind-boggling.

Wessel really looks like a 3 (to me). If Murry moves to the 3, which I think would be his best fit next year, then either Smith moves to SG, or Wessel is a RS candidate.

Hall better to be ready to contribute from Day 1, or 2 things happen: 1) WSU is in a world of hurt at PF or 2) Hall finds himself challenged for a starting spot.

Cotton seems to be more of a natural PG than any of the other Fr guards Marshall has brought in to WSU. If he's the heir apparent when Ragland graduates, then DWill can spend more time at SG (backing up Kyles?).

Orukpe - there's really no option. He's the backup center. I expect a lot of facepalm moments - especially the first half of the year. I doubt Marshall can find either a Fr or a JuCo big that could step in immediately and do much better than Orukpe.

Get ready for another year of 10-deep and doing things "by committee".

WSU needs a big for '12-'13, but the incoming Fr includes a PG, a PF, and a SF. That appears to be a decent core group to build around.

Winning the NIT does not result in "unbelievable" offers. Maybe a mid-tier BCS offer in some location that would probably require another move in a few years (like Missouri would have been).

The coach and the recruits will be here. On my piece of paper, WSU can afford to hold a scholarship (if one opens up) and RS a Fr who could be a 4-year contributor. That's a solid basis for just reloading into the forseeable future.
