I'm not saying WSU couldn't beat any of those teams. I think they could, and even if WSU lost, I think they would "hang tough". However, if we are ranking teams, I just don't see any reason that WSU should be ahead. Not far behind... but behind.

Like you said... fair enough. Good discussion.

This is great discussion. If any of you follow Kstatefans, you will know I am a KSU alum and fan, but I also follow the Shockers very closely as my wife is an alum and I live in Wichita. I also love to discuss hoops. Comparing KSU and WSU is very interesting, and to be honest, both teams had points in the season when they were really good, and both had some points when they were pretty bad. I have to think a bit about common opponents. Obviously Nebraska, both blew out NU at home and KSU beat them in Lincoln, so can't take much from that. KSU beat Wash. State in Pullman in early Dec. by 5 I think, Shocks woodshedded them. Hard to tell about that also being such different times in the year and playing a true road game vs. playing in the Garden. But heck, WSU whipped them so bad, that was beautiful. I would probably say that KSU would have won the game in November and early December against WSU, WSU would have won throughout January, KSU would have won in February, and who knows in tourney time. Both bowed out unexpectadly in conference tourney. KSU played well against Utah State, but simply didn't finish against wiscy, and of course WSU played incredible in the NIT. A KSU/WSU game in the first weekend of the tourney may have been a classic.

I agree with Gorhoops. The WSU that played in the NIT was not the same team that played the regular season. If you were an outsider and only saw WSU play in INState in the tourney, or SIU in the regular season, you would have said WSU sucks. Watching only one game doesn't tell you much about any team. If I judged Butler by their last game of the year I would say WSU would blow them out of the water.
