    The first

In this season of firsts for the Shocks, here's one passed along by ESPN:

"Despite the storied basketball histories of Kansas and Kansas State, Wichita State is the 1st school from the state of Kansas ever to win the postseason NIT. The only other NIT finalist from the state was Kansas in 1968, when the Jayhawks lost to Dayton."

    Congratulations, Shockers!

Never sat down during play tonight (and very seldom during time outs. Not once did we have anyone say "sit down". And there is nothing quite like sitting behind Lynn. Greatest Shocker cheer leader of them all. She is relentless.

We are so proud of the players and coaching staff of this team. Also the fans. It is amazing how much black and yellow there has been walking the streets of New York City the past few days. We totally dominated the Garden as well. Any while many could not make it, we know they were cheering long and hard from home.

Just heard that Ron Wycoff, WSU alumni and long time Shocker fan as well as member of ShockerNet passed away. So sorry he did not live to see tonight's game. Love you Ron.

I'm sure Ron was still watching and maybe helping a few bounces go our way.

Wow, this five game winning streak leading to the NIT Championship has to rank right up there some of the best of all times. Congratulations to all our players and coaches.

Not only is this run one that our players will never forget, it is also one we fans won't forget, no matter how successful we are in the future.
