I would feel alot better if I was hearing something about our AD going hard after Marshal to stay...I know it may be happening behind closed doors....but we hear rumors of everything else but silence on that...

How do we know that Marshall hasn't turned them down?

There is a report that NCSt AD hasn't given up on Shaka yet - she might be panicking because she doesn't have a fallback position of Marshall because he has turned her down.

You know what I heard was Wichita State was going to offer Bill Self a 40 year contract @ $5 mil a year. Its a done deal.

I have no idea. I read him sometimes for Oklahoma news. I know he is in Houston and has interest on connecting with the coaching buzz.

It should be remembered that Lon Kruger said no to OU two or three times. If NCS really wants him they can offer more and he knows it.

So this means Gregg Marshall is going to NC State, right? According to a source, Marshall interviewed with NC State Saturday. If not Marshall, Mick Cronin of Cincinnati or Chris Mack of Xavier make sense.

Virginia Commonwealth coach Shaka Smart, who led the Rams to their first-ever Final Four appearance, has agreed to terms to remain at the school, despite an offer from NC State, the Charlotte Observer reported.

"[Smart] is staying,'' VCU athletic director Norwood Teague said in an email, according to the report. "We agreed to terms this morning."

Asked if NC State had pursued Smart, Teague wrote "Yes, they talked to him and made an offer. We countered and he is staying!!!" according to the report.

NC State is looking to replace Sidney Lowe, who resigned after the Wolfpack were eliminated from the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament.[/b]
