Conor Frankamp was there last night (as he is most nights). The exposure we have been and are getting is priceless. Coach Gross admitted his phone was being lit up by AAU coaches after the game.
No. IMO, it all boils down to two things, fulfilling a childhood dream of playing in the NBA and gettin' paid. Is Wichita State the best place to market his skills? IMO no, as they are not on national tv as much and do not get the national pub as the high profile BCS teams do.

I hope I am wrong, just like I was with Mo Evans.
I think if you have NBA talent it doesn't matter where you go to school - the scouts will find you.

There is absolutely no question about that.
X was the 4th pick on a MVC 2nd place team that slid into the 1985 tournament as an 11/12 seed.
The NBA scouts well enough that if a player has the talent, he can be playing NAIA ball and the NBA will find him. Patrick O'Bryant was a lottery pick after his So year at BU. TV exposure is nice for friends, family, and ego, but I don't think it's a big factor for an NBA contract.
Player development is a factor a potential NBA player would consider.
The downside for signing with a "name brand" school is those schools get the pick of recruits every year. A player with NBA potential could end up on the bench behind some superstar and never get noticed. That same player might be getting notable minutes and stats at another program.
I doubt anyone would have seen Doug McDermott play and only a few would even recognize the name if he had signed with a team full of Burger Boys. I imagine there are a number of NBA scouts who already have file folders with McDermott's name on them.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades. We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

I think he'll narrow his list to KU, WSU, Memphis with his internal consideration on WSU and KU. It will come down to who has a better chance competing for a Nat'l Championship.
PE will play in the NBA and marketing his skills isn't an issue. All NBA scouts know who he is and what he can do.

If it's just about you being wrong, I'd say we still have a pretty fair shot.
Oakland has a legitimate lottery pick on their squad.... I don't know much about him and am only guessing that he was an under the radar recruit, just like X was at WSU...
If we want to get Perry, I assume that retaining our coach will be mandatory, unless we replace him with Bill Self or Frank Martin... 8)
