I don't see it. If there was great improvement why wouldn't he get some minutes.
Because even with improvement, he still has Durley and Stutz in front of him.
You could still find a little time or situation or two to get him some token minutes. I have listened to his show and heard what he said - I just think it is propaganda.

My prediction for next year is:

Ragland 30 mpg (has to stay out of foul trouble)
      Murry 28 mpg
Hall 32 mpg (speculative based on what he brings to the table vs need)
      Kyles 25 mpg
      Smith 20 mpg
Stutz and EO for 20 mpg each (PT will depend on match-ups, off-season progress, and fouls)

That's your 7 man rotation with Williams being the most likely 8th man. The freshman get the remaining minutes, but not sure who will step into that roll. I could easily see White and/or Cotton getting 10+ mpg.

When you are playing 10 deep there isn't enough minutes in a game for "token minutes"

          Rags/DWill/Cotton
          Kyles/Murry/Wessel
          Murry/Smith/Wessel
          Hall/White
          Stutz/Ehimen

At this point I'll be surprised if Hamilton is back. Richardson I'm still not entirely sure about and may not get much time next year. I guess we'll see.

Who do you think will "make" the rotation? Do you see a7, 8, 9, or 10 man rotation next year?

I could easily see 9. 10 if Marshall feels either Cotton or Wessel brings enough to earn regular playing time. I'm hoping at least one of them redshirt.

I see the 10th man disappearing. The 9th getting fill in minutes only (foul trouble etc) and the 8th, limited.

I am no longer assuming we'll pick up a last minute juco, although it's still possible. I think we'll redshirt 1 player for sure, maybe 2.

Everyone MUST stay healthy for us to be successful next season.

This season we got away without building for the future. Next year we have no such luxury. Some people are going to have to sink or swim.

I still harbor grave concerns about 11-12. 12-13 however scares the living pee out of me.

I listened to that conversation too, but took a slightly different meaning from it. I felt that Coach was saying that EO had improved a great deal and could (if he continued his improvement and if GS did not improve sufficiently) challange enough to end up with about 20 minutes each. I did not really feel that he was making a statement that it was as much "will probably" as more like "could possibly" see up to 20 minutes. The difference interpretations are minor and yet there is a difference.

I do believe that he expects to see EO get significantly more PT next year and he has continued to express his satisfaction in EO's improvement. He mentioned EO again last night and he seems to be really happy with EO's progress over the past couple of months. He's not ready to crack this year's inside rotation, but appears ready to be a contributor from the beginning next year.

I really think that most of us who watched EO play at 3 Rivers last year predicted that he would get very little time this year, more next year and be ready to take over the position as a senior. I still feel that way.

That's also the way I see it. With 3 sniors and Stutz, there was really no room for a 5th big in the rotation. Seeing as Ellis, Durley, and Stutz (to this point) had remarkably healthy careers, there was basically no opportunities for a 5th big, espescially one as raw as EO. Although Blair battled the back fracture, he only missed one game. Next year will be our first opportunity to really see what EO can do, whether it be 10 mpg or 25.

To break down MPG on my list...

                      Rags 30
                      Murry 28
                      Kyles 25
                      Hall 28
                      Stutz 23

                      Smith 17
                      DWill 15
                      Ehimen 16
                      White 13

That leaves around 5 minutes to play with. If Wessel or Cotton deserve PT, which I'd love to see one earn it, then we could reduce a few minutes of wear and tear on Rags/Murry/Kyles and possibly take some away from the bench.

Next year could be pretty good. The year after will depend on the development of Ehimen, if White can step in and be a factor as a Sophomore, Wessel and Cotton can step into a starting/major role and keep us going. DWill being able to lead and run the point isn't as big a concern for me as I know he's capable and think we'll see some of that next year. He could keep Rags from having to play 30+. We all know he has it in him from a talent standpoint.

The class of '12 is HUGE! We may be a bit down that year, but I think if we could bring in an Ellis and Thurmon that could help A LOT. Getting another PG and a C will be crucial as well. It's possible though we won't fall off too much. But that's two years from now.

No doubt we need one or two impact players in next year's class.

Since Coach Marshall will still be here, I see 2012 being a very nice year with a young and VERY talented team. Especially with a trip to MSG, and dominating the Valley next year, we will get one or two highly regarded recruits.

Eliis? Eh, I'd say we have 50/50 chance if we can sign another high quality PG to go with Thurman, and a sweet makin 2 guard, and we will be on our way to a several year tournament run.
