When they showed up for 40 minutes, they were a top 30 team. Sometimes though they were around top 100 to top 150. One of the most frustrating teams I've ever watched. Sometimes I wanted to pull my hair out.

Was WSU actually a legit top 40 team? Top 30?

Hey....some folks thought that VCU shouldn't have made the dance. And VCU has proved that they were a good choice.
They have been fun to watch....they are a tough match up for the tall teams who like half court games since they are small, agile, and drive the lanes in transition.
It is all in the match ups.

WSU shoud have been a top 30 team. Had we played in the Big East, we likely would have gone something like 9-9 or 10-8 and gotten a 6 seed in the NCAA. We have a good team this year, we pass the eye test, and we might have been able to make a sweet 16 run. Reality is that we underperformed by about 2 games and we got the NIT bid which is what we deserved. Since we were placed in the correct tournament as far as what we earned on the court, the only thing left to do is make the most of the situation. No shame in a 26+ win season!Livin the dream

I think HCGM needs to work on his x's & o's. I've decided to skip all of WSU's MBB games next year. (Of course, I have my ticket for tomorrow's game in my wallet and I loved being at the UNL game.) This team had such high potential and it was largely wasted; it is not worth it to me to experience this level of frustration next year. (Yes, there are other reasons not to attend next year beyond mere frustration but I have been told to watch my blood pressure at times and MBB games might be some of those times.)Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Well ... in addition to a huge amount of frustration ... I'm transferring to another state for 12-15 months. I should be back for the 2012-13 season. :D
I'll be honest, however; I skipped a lot of games this year and I would probably have skipped a lot of games next year if I was here. I gave up my baseball season tickets because I was just too busy to attend the games (& I love baseball.)
I largely quit posting here and I think it is time for me to take a break again. I am really looking forward to seeing Perry Ellis' first game as a Shocker !!! :DSome posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:

It's as simple as "taking care of business". I was SERIOUSLY bummed after the SIU home loss and as a fan continued to cheer but I admit to emotionally divesting myself with this season. The solid performance against Nebraska brought me back to life but with a more realistic, nay, reasoned perspective. I am not usually a kool-aid drinker but the hype of this team really got me going and I regret throwing caution to the wind. I truly believe this team had the potential and the opportunity to do something really special but we must remind ourselves that they are young men who are treated like rock stars in our community and except for our coaching staff no one wants to win more than the players. I believe this NIT run is a good thing and I regardless of who may be skipper next season I am a firm believer that in coming seasons we'll be dancing.
