Again, a great game for him, but let's not forget there were about 30 previous games played before today.
I thought he also lost the handle on the ball in the last minute of OT (maybe it was regulation); BUT HE DIDN'T FOUL and he recovered the ball before is slipped completely loose.

      there are two Toure Murry's:

      1) Plays within himself and what the team needs from him and just lets the game happen.

      2) Forces things

He usually has great results when number 1 shows up, when number 2 shows up and he is making crazy drives, shooting 3's with 30 seconds on shot clock, etc. He cameback from a terrible MVC tourney and let the game happen instead of forcing. I see these as a positive for next year. The sooner he learns to consistently do this the sooner his full potential will be reached.

Ragging on him for that last play is just lame. Turns out it won the game and didn't cost them anything. His overall play yesterday, including some great passes and shots down the stretch helped win the game. Give it a break.

        Simple question and obvious answer.

Are we better with Toure playing or not?

              Yep.

Pose the same question after the:

              Missouri State game
              Northern Iowa game
              Southern Illinois game
              Valley Tournament games
              Deuces Valley.
              ... No really, deuces.

I love this kid. Polite, kind, good kid and tireless worker, even when things haven't gone his way.

Loved listening to him after the game. Great against Delaney, even though he had 30, he was a leader out there and made big plays late in the game.

                15 points, 7 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals.

For all you haters out there, and YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, take that.

                Doc,

Not a "hater" I just know when a player isn't there.

If you're arguing that point, you haven't been paying attention (I know better).

Toure should have been pulled back until he got things straightened out.

                Did he look better today?

After the first two minutes - no.

He was burned on a back door and committed a silly T/O.

We know how the story ended as he turned it around and played well.

But admit it - when he took the first couple of treys' you were holding your breath.

As was everyone else on here. 8)
Did I really use "to" instead of "too"? Jeez......

I know and I understand. My beef was more how he was used, than with Toure'......plus I just liked that Gregg line and wanted to use it.

The reason Toure should be out there is not because he hasn't had bad moments, but because more than any other player on our team, we struggle to play well unless he is playing well.

This team goes as Toure goes. That means that when he plays poorly, we usually lose. However, it also means that we rely on his contributions more than we rely on anyone else.

If he is struggling you can certainly pull him, but it doesn't necessarily solve anything because we don't have someone to replace what he is capable of.

How can anyone deny that Toure is a tremendous asset to this team. Sure, he has faltered as have every single player on this team. But, rarely on defense.

And in our 2nd and third NIT games, he has excelled.

On defense, alone, he has been guarding some of the most prolific scorers in the nation and has been doing a truly outstanding job. He has further played a most important role on offense stealing the ball and setting up others for layups.

Without Toure, we would not still be playing in the NIT.

If he matures and improves offensively over the summer, he will be dynamite next year.

                      Yes....yes it is.

Might there be a Maggie sighting in the Garden should the Shocks be so fortunate to make it that far?
I am not prepared to have this discussion right now.
MSG and my Shoxs. You people have no idea how long I have waited for this - I am ready to have the conversation now. I have tickets for next week - Mr. And Mrs Maggie will be in attendance and will be loud.

PM me if you are planning to head to NYC - I would be honored to give you whatever recommendations you require.

Well - for at least a couple days :D. - the boys will work on that trophy later. I am just thrilled to see them play in MSG - my second favorite place to watch a game. I have not even finished watching the game on DVR - I keep getting interrupted :)
