Had he been healthy SIU may have won a few more games but he missed about half the season. SIU is going to be BAD next year.

Will they finally be able to hire a new coach after next season?

The general spin on the SIU board is that Teague wasn't that good of a player and maybe has an attitude problem (which seems to be contagious under C-Lo) and they are glad to see him go. Perhaps this a stage in their greiving process.

I guess SIU is hanging on to C-Lo because they can't or don't want to incur the cost of buying him out. I really don't know how much, if any, this changes next year but he certainly seems like a lame duck to me which can't help him in the recruiting battles.

He couldn't transfer to a Valley school. I believe the rule is still that if you do so, not only do you have to sit out a year, you lose that year. So he's not going anywhere.

I'm 95% sure the MVC has the same rule. I have no idea if it's a rule by conference or NCAA wide.

I know an exception was made for Baylor players after that situation where they could transfer in conference and not lose a year. I'm not even sure if they had to sit out.
