Wow, four years in a row of being a one bid league. That's the most concerning thing in my opinion.

That is very concerning. But the 14 seed this year is too. It means we are not only a one bid conference, but we have become a really bad one bid conference.

Doug Elgin should wake up and take drastic measures to change this huge downfall.

Unfortunately I don't think he will do anything. Which means if we don't want to get totally pulled down to the bottom, we need to start evaluating our conference options.

Four straight years of being a one bid conference means it will be harder to hold on to good coaches, it will be harder to get good coaches to replace the ones who leave and it will be harder to recruit good players.

      This is very, very bad!!!

It's a travesty of a mockery? I would have really expected Marshall to clean up in a crap Valley cycle like this. C'mon, Coach!

WSU got out-coached on several occasions this year including in the MVC tourney. Until this changes, WSU will continue to fail to win the MVC tourney and, as MSU's postseason situation shows, nothing else matters.
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

ive heard the blah blah blah about how the previous mandate ended in 2002, but it looks like the fruits of that labor paid off in 2003-2006. lets start it back up

Elgin has said the schools in the mvc have no desire to have any scheduling requirements and admit he has no choice to but to let them have what they want - which I guess is mediocrity.

When Doug says "the schools", I wonder what he means? The coaches, ADs, administrators or the Presidents?

This sounds like a great question that Paul Suellentrop needs to pose to both Doug Elgin AND President Beggs and even perhaps Eric Sexton. When we get the real deal, then it's time to visit with Coach. I know those questions won't be easy, but that's why you get the big dollars Paul.

I'm fine with the rest of the Valley sucking, but if that's the case, we need to dominate the Valley and only worry about our own SOS.

That's all well and fine .... If we had an Athletic Director that was a trailblazer, but somehow I just don't feel we do.

The problem is that 21 of our games each year (counting the Valley tourney) are against our conference brethren.

If they all stink, it makes it almost impossible for us to get an at large bid.

I guess we can settle on winning a sucky conference in the Lou and taking our 14 seed like Indy St did this year.

That is a scenerio that is unacceptable in my book.

If we schedule well and take care of business we can get an at-large. If we do all that, win or lose in STL and we'll get better than a 14 seed. Lets remember, ISU had a not so good noncon and was the 3rd place team in the Valley. The best they could hope for was a 13 and that would have been a long shot.

The problem with where this all is heading is that Coaches dont want to come here and be 23-8 or 25-6 and not get a bid - when they can be the 7th or 11th best team in a big conference and get a bid. That is what bothers me.
Don't let the fear of striking out - keep you from playing the game!
