A 4.2 ppg improvement. That is the best you can hope for.
Given that our top scorer this year, Durley, averaged 11.3 in 25+ mpg, I'll take that in a heartbeat.

2012 - three 2011 senior big men gone. He'll get his 20 minutes per game.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

I think there is little doubt about 20 plus minutes. Probably 25. He gets 11 or 12 a game and pulls boards like he can, Hall is as good as most of us are hoping for, the starting front line is more than good. If EO and White come through as back ups we are in good shape.

In his last 60 games, Stutz has played 22 minutes or more 5 times.

It doesn't matter how many seniors leave. He can't stay on the floor.

He'll have no choice. He'll either foul out or wear out before Marshall takes the saddle off.

The improvement many seek will never happen.
Posts like this are extremely frustrating. Stutz would fight for position down low but rarely be rewarded by getting the ball. Durley rarely fought for position. HCGM needs to modify his offense to make entry passes easier and more effective. Remember Ralph Miller's 1980-81 Oregon State team with Steve Johnson at center?

                What are some options?
                (1) High/Low offense? http://www.breakthroughbasketball.co...se-system.html
                (2) Triangle Offense? (Michael Jordan is still available. Right?) http://www.breakthroughbasketball.co...e-offense.html
                ETC.

What about the motion offense? http://www.breakthroughbasketball.co...uestion-2.html (Am I saying our players have the skill sets of "3rd-5th grade girls"? Of course not!!)

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

This depends on coaching. Stutz could play 25-30 minutes per game without fouling out if HCGM designs the right offenses and defenses. If HCGM looks at the strengths and weaknesses of GS and takes these into account, Stutz can play a lot. For example, can we defend high ball screen and roll plays? (Answer: Not in 2010-11) Stutz got called for blocking fouls when the real problem was no good defensive plan (to combat this) for the team.

I think HCGM recruited the wrong Stutz. His brother has much more presence in the middle, better footwork and a lot more basketball intelligence.

Garrett still tries to use his hands to defend rather than his feet. I don't see too many more minutes for him next year, and I know that the coaches are out looking for post players as we speak, even with 2 seven ftr's on the squad.

Garrett can stay on the floor by 1) no illegal screen calls at the top of the circle, 2) stay away from marginal block attempts, just make them shoot it over him and 3) learn to stop and shoot a 6 foot jumper or hook instead trying to get all the way to the goal.

I'm sure we are looking at posts for 2012. Not so sure about for next year since last night Marshall said a young point guard and slashing type wing are their interest if we bring in more recruits this Spring.

You gotta read between the lines.......when a head coach says he's out looking for one thing, he's usually out looking for something else. A coach won't tip his recruiting intentions even to his faithful fans.

Perhaps but I'm seeing a few slashing type wings being added to the recruiting board. There has also been a young pg or two. I don't recall a post for 2011 being added lately. I must admit I would like for us to go after one in particular, and perhaps we are.

Go to Hutchinson next week and see who he's talking to. There won't be any secrets there.
