  • Will DOFO get his wish?

Barring a miracle in the ACC Tournament, NC State coach Sidney Lowe will miss the NCAA tournament for the fifth straight season. His first year in Raleigh was probably his best – with Herb Se…

I'm not sure if Marshall would take the NC State job, definitely not the Arkansas job.

This quote about Lowe made me laugh though:
He’s recruited well, but on-the-court, the results have been underwhelming.
Sounds like Marshall would be a great replacement.

No real news here. Marshall has been the favorite of their fan base for some time. Most expect Lowe to be fired right after their season ends.

Arkansas is reportedly hot to trot for Mike Anderson of Missouri, given his ties to Noland Richardson....

If I was NC State, I would take a close look at Shaka Smart for several different reasons.

We are probably talking about 2 million dollars if one of these schools do make an offer. If that kind of money is offered I would be hesitate to say definitely not to any of them. Arkansas also has an oustanding recruiting class coming in.

I guess I've just always been under the assumption that Marshall would want to go back to the east coast. I guess he could use another BCS program as a stepping stone, I haven't really thought about that possibility.

If he gets offered the NC State job, he's gone. There will be many other jobs open up in the next few weeks.

First of all, I hope he stays.

Can't see TTU as an opportunity. It's a football school that only supported basketball because of the novelty of Bobby Knight. That ship has sailed.

I figured that if Gregg left it would be back to the Southeast. I read some of the boards last year when Clemson and WF came open and discovered that there are fans back there that don't like Gregg. Considering his alpha personality I'm sure he has pissed off a few people in his time. He's not always diplomatic and can be very emotional. That doesn't always sit well with big boosters used to being coddled. Personally, I like that demeanor, especially at our level.

I'm sure his name willl come up and he will be talked to. I'm not sure a move willl happen this year. Maybe after we've had a season of fulfullment or two.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

Are you kidding? Marshall will take ANY job offered him from a multi-bid conference.

I don't think there is any way he will be our coach next year. He does NOT want to coach in a one bid conference and the Valley has clearly cemented itself as a one bid wonder.

The Texas Tech job was filled long before Pat Knight was fired. The Red Raiders won't be raiding our coach.

I can't see NC State wanting Marshall after what was admittedly an underachieving year, unless he gets us to the Garden. That might be enough to make him a commodity.

The MVC is definitely that, and that was a criteria for him accepting the job... Something tells me Elgin will get a wakeup call this weekend....

Texas A&M signed Mark Turgeon after an underachieving year.
