I'm considering dropping my season tickets next year.
I still don't have my stamina completely back after my illness in 2009. 2 nights a week and a 40-hour work week is the absolute limit of my endurance.
I have things that I want and need to do other than WSU basketball and those things don't get done during the season.
I'm certain there are others where either time or budget considerations affect the purchase of season tickets. Seeing the cupcake games and then either lopsided and fairly boring wins, or lack of execution and getting beat by bad teams (SIU!) took some of the enjoyment out of this season. I don't think I've seen a season in the post-Smithson II era where the fans were less involved than this year.
Next year is likely to break the string of consecutive 10K+ tickets sold for home games. Disappointing teams lead to disappointing revenue streams. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

If this team doesn't put forth the effort for the NCAA's, what makes you think they'll do the same for the NIT?
Combine that with our home issues and I just don't feel it this year. I'll support the boys in spirit.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

I only voted no because I won't be in town at the time. Otherwise I would go. I'm frustrated and somewhat pissed but I would still go if I could."He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. I will go if I have no other commitments on the game nights. However, I won't be reserving my season seat and will just take my chances when they go on sale to the general public, with hopes of better seating location.Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind. ~Dr. Seuss

I voted yes, but I totally understand why others would vote no for various reasons.
The pressure is off the Shocks now. They failed to live up to our expectations and to their own expectations.
Maybe, just maybe, they can go out and just play for the fun of it. I think I will attend the games just for the fun of it. Who knows, maybe they will actually play an entertaining basketball game.

I voted no as well, but many change my mind if it's a Florida State type opponent. Tired of paying $100 per game to be underwhelmed, bored with crappy non-conference opponents and getting two little kids out in awful weather. I have to agree, after 20 years of season tickets and SASO donations that I should be investing in retirement or my kids' education, it might be time to let the season tix go as well. This team has made it easier to detach oneself from the program.
The smart money might be in snagging a few select games during the regular season and if they make it to the NCAA's spend the season ticket money on a family trip to wherever they play.
Of course, the 6 year-old and 2 year-old whom I've turned into Shocker junkies might veto my plan.
See you at the Gregg Marshall auction. I might forgive them then, like a dumb guy forgives a bad girlfriend only to regret it later.

I don't currently plan on going. That could change. I've spent so many evenings involved in basketball and spent so much money, that right now, I'm tired of throwing what little money I have at the program only to continually walk away disappointed. The return on my money has not been good. EVERY game that's mattered this year has been lost and I've seen too many poor performances as a whole. Even in wins. I hope they win the whole thing, but an NIT championship means NOTHINGInfinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

....through thick and thin. You can't desert them anytime they play. That's like members of the team giving up or quitting on the coach. Our players may have disappointed us, but they never stopped playing hard. Effort was there, execution is another story.
You bet I'll be there supporting them 100% regardless.

I'm just laying low for an upgrade. I too will find it hard to stay away even though I know the very real possibility that we will again leave disappointed. I'll probably just go with my wife and leave the 3 kiddos with a sitter. No sense putting up that kind of money for a lame opponent. On second thought, I may not go unless we play someone worth getting fired up about. I will never forget the electricity of that Florida State game. Can't really duplicate that since this NIT appearance is a let down. But I will take whatever we can get to see a quality opponent on our own floor.
