I just don't understand how Warren gets on the first team. I don't think a team that wins 11 games total and only 4 in conference should have anyone sniffing the first team.

I struggled with that, but he led the Valley in scoring by a lot, and was an excellent rebounder as well.

If Bradley hadn't lost Maniscalco and Brown, Warren probably wouldn't have scored enough to be first-team, although BU would have been better and that could have swung things as well.

Wow, did the Suckamore fans ***** and whine enough to make you sway two awards in their favor?

Cuonzo most certainly will win COY and Dougie will win FOY.
        Deuces Valley.
        ... No really, deuces.

I agree with both -- they will win the awards. However, If I were voting, I'd take Lansing and Odum.

I don't know how much you have seen Odum play -- he's an absolute stud.

I've seen both play, and while I agree that Odum is a good player, Dougie is a better player. I honestly don't think it's that close.

I thought you presented a very good case for Odum in your last two paragraphs. No doubt, playing PG as a freshman, he had a much bigger job to carry out Dougie. In fact, one could argue that if Little Chewy was so good, why, along with teammates Young and GodEcheniqueGod, did Creighton finish 2 games behind Indiana St.

Just curious. What were Dougie's numbers against the other top 5?

Its is clear WSU didn't have very good players, that must mean that Marshall is coach of the year - right?

15.3 points, 7.4 rebounds for Dougie against the other top 5.

I really think CU underachieved badly - Echenique is awfully good, and with Dougie and Young are very good, and they have depth at center with the Preseason POY Lawson -- what happened?

This has been the most odd of all odd seasons in the Valley.

Seems like most of the selections are based on exceeding expectations.

Dougie Fresh might not start for WSU, but he's 1st team.

Odum wasn't a blip on his own team's radar....now he's 1st team? Admittedly, he reminds me of Adam Ememememememmememememmeker.

Andrew Warren? What % of his points mattered? Did he have any help?

He's not as good as EITHER Maurice Evans or Jason Perez. They both played on better teams than Bradley this year and I promise you the Valley was worse then, but they didn't make 1st team.

I agree, picking a player for WSU is tough. Almost every Shocker starter would start at any other Valley school.

All I know what that means is that our Coach is not COY.

Strange season indeed....I guess it's too much to ask for it to be our last.

Ask away Doc. The problem is not the asking, but the answer.

I wouldn't say awfully good, he doesn't know how to catch a ball in the post. Did you forget so soon how many times our guards ran up and knocked it lose?

Odum is awfully good. I hope he wins. But i doubt it.
Lil' Mac doesn't play D very well. That's a fact.

Overall, I think they are all good selections. I thought Leonard would make 2nd or 3rd team though.

You should make Defensive player of the year award. Maybe even a All-Defense team (I'm not sure if there is such a thing though)

Glad to see Benny Boom getting the 6th man award. I hope he really does. I think he probably will, but I don't keep tract of the other 9 teams bench players, so I wouldn't know.

Defensive POY to me would have either been Odum or Ahelegbe, with a bone thrown to Seck from SIU.

It's awfully hard to do that - I admittedly haven't seen every team play every game.

                            Thanks for the feedback -
