Frankly I think the "these refs suck" should be used sometime when they really do. It was a game changer last time it was used and if the crowd gets a warning it is only going to to get them fired up.
    That is exactly what happened.

For the unoriginal people out there here are a couple of chants

"You let the whole team down" after a free throw by the opposing team
"Hip, hip, Toure" after he makes a shot

We are the Shockers but maybe incorprate something to do with wheat??

    "Hoorah" after a free throw

Kids in front of the student secetion. Sounds like WSU needs to crack down on who gets tickets. AKA I doubt the kids are students.

But hey if you want to get 1/4 of Wichita anywhere put free in front of an item or event.

After a free throw is made by our team, the cheerleaders lead everyone in saying "Swish" -clap clap - "Go Shocks". If the whole student section took part, it would sound great.

Also, everyone sitting in the front row of the student section last night were students except the guy that sits next to the tunnel and the wife of a student who brought their daughter. I have been told that the little boy has Downs Syndrome (sad face look) and really enjoys being able to watch the games through the front row bars and interact with WU, the cheerleaders and the players before the game. Since he enjoys the stimuli so much, his babysitter brings him to the game. He is going to grow up being a true shocker fan!!!!!

A potential cheer for that special circumstance where the official makes a proper call against an opponent: "You Got That Right"

For a bad call against us, "I think NOT"

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

Hi, yeah, I have been on this board for 3 years, although my posts don't show it. I sit oh about 9 rows up behind the visitor bench and have been in those seats for 8 years with family. It gets really annoying when our students pick on the basketball players families, grow up and get over it, focus on the game, who cares if they act crazy. I remember being a student and how fun it was, but when I graduated in 2002, I realized that it is time to grow up, and contribute in another way and let the young people take over. Unfortunately that is not the case as people who graduated way before 2002 are still acting like they are a freshmen in college. Move on, seriously! Yes i was there for the infamous "these refs suck" game, and remember the coach getting on the mic and telling the students to settle down, I was there for the ball throwing incident last year and previous years which was uncalled for.

Confetti is not that big of a deal, okay so we can't do it, no worries, but figure out some other things to do that are positive and fun to get people into the game. Is pounding on the chairs not acceptable anymore either, geeze!

Those three are prime examples of how great we all can be, where every single fan was into the game, it was fun, and the opposing coaches interviews the next day were literally comments like "wow that place is electric, we didn't know what hit us, and I could not even communicate with my players because of how loud it was."

One more thing that rally bothers many people and this is not directed at the students but when we are down and going thru bad times during the game I believe it is wrong for our fans to boo our coaches and players, come on give them the support we need, get on your feet.....oh wait I just realized that this is not Allen Fieldhouse and apparently sitting is appropriate for our games
Opposing players' families can actually act more immature than the student section. Most of the time the students are piling on them because it's warranted. This is Koch Arena, not some biddy basketball gymnasium.

Ehh Hoorah is better than hearin the immature "you suck......balls" come on guys be more mature than that, it is so old and lame, and you talk about children being in the front row of the student section because of DS or other causes, yeah that just makes it that much worse. If I can understand it sitting elsewhere in the arena then the kids can hear it to.

So we are to yell Hoorah when the other team makes a free throw? That would be a first to support the other team getting more points. That's a first for me.

                          It's Murry, newb.

I think most know my stance on TM throughout the last 3 years. He was NOT our savior last year. That title would belong to Mr. Hannah. Anyone that is still trying to envision Mr. Frosh Murry is fooling themselves. Sometimes you just need to see reality.

You suck balls sucks but hoorah isn't that much better and maybe even less original. Your original premise I don't have a problem with. Your solution to counter it isn't much better though.

Yeah, yeah, yeah... That's just a personal peeve. If confetti were something that was more.... well... legalized in the student section, I'd live with it. Since it's not, I'll complain. I just don't like confetti in my hair.

Spot on about the big noise answers. You know what would really be killer? If we would respond to those moments with more noise. Instead of letting the other team shut us down, let them fire us up.

Anyway though. SASO seats gotta be filled. That's just inexcusable.

Yes as a Shocker who does not miss any games myself even thru the bad years when most people did sluff WSU off, SASO members need to show up or get their tickets to the people that will come to the game. Nothing irks me more when Don Hall says its a sell out and I see 100 seats open with no one sitting in them.

Do all these old people that get to the game at noon not work, I seriously want to know what they do for a living because it must be nice. By god I hope they are not living on welfare!

Flyers cost a buck o five, seriously has anyone ever asked a sorority or fraternity to sponsor a game to put flyers down, or organize an activity? You mention time, okay, so those who come to the games that are not students anymore but abuse the system (most likely) have all the time in the world to get there and get front row you have time to probably organize something for the evening, and lets be frank the flash mob was not a well orchestrated thing at all. I give the 25 students out of 1000 who did it a B for effort.

Yes me with my mighty 5 posts, oh wait I have a job, a family, and a kid, I have contributed to WSU, I still do with cash and time probably more than you will ever be able to fathom.
I'll get over it when it isn't banned. It's a personal peeve. Jeeze, who are you, the Shocker Stasi? Are some of us gonna end up behind a chemical shed at midnight because we don't follow you in lock-step?

As for the old people, they get there about three, she's a stay at home mom, I think, and the rest of those old people are actually students. The average age of a WSU student is something like 27.

Agree on the flash mob thing; that was just a fiasco. By the way, the 25 who did it were the 25 who signed up to do it. They had a rehearsal and everything.

A buck five starts to pile up. At that rate, it's about $100 a game for each home game, so over the course of a season you're easily talking a cool grand, so unless someone's getting advertising out of it, it's money better spent elsewhere. Maybe you with all your SASO money would like to toss a grand at the student section, only to see it get ignored and torn into confetti...

Fraternities and sororities won't do it, SAC can't afford anything more than the flash mob, student government is VERY careful about their spending since the whole millipede fiasco, and there's not many other organizations on campus with that kind of scratch.

So yeah, noob. Just keep running your mouth. Most of us have families, jobs, classes, or other such pursuits that occupy our time and money too. You're not special.
Deep in the heart of couldn't give a crap about college basketball-land and I miss the SHOX.
