Why can't Shocker fans just quit discussing and complaining about KU and KSU not playing us. You don't see KSU or KU fans complaining one bit about not playing us. If the topic comes up, there are some that say it would be nice to add us to their schedule, but they are not chomping at the bit to see us.

In everyone's eyes outside of Wichita, we are the only ones bitching and it really makes us look like sour pusses. Why not complain about Oklahoma State, OU, Arkansas, Nebraska and Arkansas. We can't get these guys to play us either. And they are all within a 7 hour or less bus drive.

It was USC's idea to play KU in Wichita, not KU's. KSU and WVU have a common bond so who cares if they play in ICT. Big freakin' deal. There are numerous KSU and KU alumni in Wichita and Intrust Bank was not created with some clause that states only WSU games could be played there. Can KSU and KU not be afforded the opportunity to show their basketball team to their alums in Wichita?

I wish now that I had never voted for the arena. I have been to one game there (WSU-TULSA) that is it.

And now we have set up a way for KSU and KU to play in Wichita without playing the Shocks.

They are dissing us big time.

Most K-State and KU fans know little to nothing about Wichita State so it doesn't surprise me that they aren't chomping at the bit to play us. I bet if you polled their fans they would not be against the idea of playing us. The matchups would evolve into "rivalry" games that would be great for the fans of both schools.

I don't think Shocker fans are that far off base here. There are many other states that have similar matchups. I don't even live in Colorado but find myself watching the Colorado vs Colorado State football game every year because it has developed into an intense rivalry. There are also several basketball examples of in state play Tulsa vs OK State, Nebraska vs Creighton, Iowa UNI and ISU, Colorado vs Colorado State, Oklahoma vs Oral Roberts, Arizona vs Northern Arizona, Texas Vs Rice, LSU vs 5 other instate schools. I'm sure I could list many more examples but surely my point has been made already.

You stated it perfectly by saying there are a significant # of KU and K-State alumni in Wichita. That is why it would be great to have a bragging rights game every year. It has nothing to do with proximity to our campus. Quit trying to make excuses for the chickenhawks and pussycats. :posterwu:

WSU needs to make the best of this situation. Call up Huggins and see if he would like a second game at iba. The ksu game could be the warm up for the main event. Then call up USC and see if they would like a second home game at iba.

There are a bunch of conspiracy theorists here in Shocker Nation. I'm not one of them. All you conspiracy theorists listen up, the sooner you accept the fact that they are never going to play us, the sooner you can move on with your life less this stupid controversy.

I've been done with this dead horse, the only reason I make comments about this broken record of a subject is to perhaps convince some of you to just accept the fact it ain't gonna happen. Let's talk about something immediately pertaining to Shocker basketball rather than ranting like a bunch of whiners how it's not fair they don't play us, legislature should mandate it, or how other states do it why can't we.

We haven't played KU since when? 1993 and we in Shocker Nation continue to *****? I don't think Joe Ragland was even born when we last played KU. How long is long enough for you to realize that it is a pipe dream?

If you really feel that badly that KU is wanting to play in ICT, then email GM and have a game scheduled up in KC at KU's home-away-from-home Sprint Center. Will that make you feel better?

Almost 20 years folks, KU has no interest and we will all be dead and buried by the time KU and WSU schedule each other. It's that simple. Perhaps with their former AD Lew Perkins gone, the new AD or subsequent ones will finally open up their eyes, but until then I will not be holding my breath.

The best thing for WSU to do is to start making some damn NCAA tournaments and succeeding in them. Then, sooner or later, we'll get them in the tournament, or their fans will start demanding a game because they'll begin to look like the biggest vaginas in college basketball, and we will start to get mentioned in the 'Who's the best program in Kansas' conversation.

Also, stealing a few of their recruits couldn't hurt :D

Until that happens, we just look like a charity case on the street begging for a dollar.
