With this latest melt down and fingers pointed I see things being posted that I really don't agree with and to tell you the truth am embarrassed to even be associated with. As some people have recently posted about the importance of winning and how sports teaches us life lessons these things are true, to an extent. I served 5 years in the Marine Corps and I can guarentee that there is no other service that the need for winning is not drilled into you at every moment. I flew attack aircraft in very close proximity to the earth. Friends of mine made mistakes and they are no longer here. College sports are games played by young men and women, should we get upset when they lose, sure but keep things in perspective. These kids will learn and don't have to die when they fail to perform to someone elses expectations or make a small mistake in judgement. That being said I wish the Shox all of the luck and I will continue to be there in support. I may from time to time check the prevailing attitudes but right now its just plain bad. Thanks to many of you for the insightful comments and humor but its just not fun anymore.

I have kind of done this for the last couple of years. In the early days of ShockerNet, I read and posted all the time.

But some people on here are just too negative for me. I don't like the name calling and I don't like what I see as being overly down on 18 and 19 year olds who are trying to do their best to represent Wichita St.

So these days, I check the board now and then, sometimes I might go a month between checks.

I do tend to come on more often during baseball season.

I guess I am just more even keel than some of the frequent posters on this board. I don't get overly high with wins and I don't get overly low with losses.

I have never followed a baseball team or a basketball team that went undefeated so losses are going to happen. I just am not going to go ballistic over a loss.
