yes and no. the movement is situational. in the case of the big east the teams pulled each other up to where the decrease wasnt as severe as the increase.

JH4P -- I didn't forget about you but I am getting no computer time right now. I have made some interesting observations with limited data.

One of which supports mathematically what others have been saying.

Another is counter to my assumption that the heavies have to schedule winning cupcakes. Turns out that they can schedule a few random cupcakes with no real downside.

I'm not comfortable saying either is true yet, but very quick test with RPI was confirming it's quite possible to stack it in your favor if you are in a media driven conference (and therefore is biased). Can probably even calculate the amount of bias but might need im4wsu's help.

I love Charles... he continues to bag on the big East telling everyone that they're overated and only deserved 8 teams. He's starting to get under the skin of Patino.

After watching Notre Dame's embarrassing performance to finish the weekend, I'll admit that the Big East was probably overseeded a little bit. However, that doesn't change the fact that they deserved all 11 bids that they received. The only double digit seed, #11 Marquette, has more than proven that they deserve to be there.

Also, interestingly enough, you won't hear any conversation on this board about how the ACC & Pac 10 are exceeding expectations. I'm not saying that I would expect those topics on shockernet, but I do feel like there is a little bit of "lets use one BCS conference as an example of why all BCS conferences are overrated".

You keep saying we are too focused on the Big East, but you started this thread with a hypothetical to show why the Big East deserves 11 bids. So of course that's what everyone is focused on. :)
