I heard that VCUs coach talked on espn. He didn't beat around the bush..
I guess he flat out said he was glad that his team got paired with WSU. Then he said that they were gonna beat us and they don't care about our gametime atmosphere.
I don't blame him for being confident. Seems like most coaches think their gonna win, but try to be respectful and say alot of:
They're a great team.
It's gonna be a tough game.
...and so forth.
As you could imagine our coach IS using this as bulletin board material.
On another note.
I learned that VCU full court presses the entire game after makes and timeouts.
They switch defenses often as well.
And they have 3 guys that have shot over 100 3 pointers so far this season.
one guy has shot over 150.
They shoot 3's relentlessly. And always have the greenlight.
I hope they're cold...
I can imagine alot of crowd-deflating 3's shutting everyone up.
This is going to be a very interesting and potentially fun game to watch. We'll finally get to see our team's athletic ability shine in a setting/style of play that favors it. We need to take care of the ball and limit their transition offense as much as possible while doing the opposite for ourselves on the other end.
It's time to get the home court advantage back and ROCK THE ROUNDHOUSE!
Is there any chance that if the Shocks should be fortunate enough to win the day, that perhaps the crowd (obviously led by the student body) could fire up a BEAT CU chant to end the game?
I sure would love to see a little extra enthusiasm from the team and the crowd as we head down the stretch.
BEAT C U...BEAT C U...BEAT C U sure would sound good from about 10k with a minute to go up a dozen or so....just sayin'.

Could just be me though.
I can only imagine the ensuing consternation as folks try to make sense of the chant..."Beat CU" sounds an awful lot like "VCU" to the untrained ear. I fully support the notion though. :goshocks:
By the way, my apologies if this was already posted and I'm sure most have probably already figured out that Rob Stone and Bob Valvano are calling the game for ESPN.

Has there been any VCU fans over on this board? I can't remember a matchup like this with less interaction from the opposing team. Maybe they are just assuming they'll win like their coach.
