The LAST thing I'll do is give him some juice to drool over.
Trust me when I say I know of what I speak.

This is some premium information. You should ask for a little something-something because this is so much better than any other info out there written by a 5th grader. ;-) :D
Note: In no way do I think ShockRef is a 5th grader. :goshocks:

A PM will be fine.
x 2.
I love people who tease people with information but then insist on not telling anybody anything.
Love it.
I know of a ref that was abducted by aliens and experimented on. I also know of a certain head coach in the Valley that was raised by wolves . Before anyone asks there is a 4th rate sports writer who reads my posts hoping for the big scoop. Therefore I must be cryptic!

I have come here to chew bubblegum and kickass ... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

That's kind of funny - even for card carrying liberal like you. 8)

shockref antics of defending every single ref gets very tiresome. He thinks every ref makes every right call at every single game. And on the mvc tourney where HCGM got tossed, i was sitting 2 rows from him, and HCGM literally said nothing. He had no reason to get tossed.
I don't think he defends "every single ref" but the fact is that the fans (and that includes me) are wrong more than they are right when it comes to second guessing officials.
They are trying to get every call right and while I am certain there are a couple out there that don't like Coach A or Player B, 99+% of the time they do everything to keep the game fair.
Everyone makes mistakes. They are no different. I make tons, but I would wager that most people I work with would say I am a fairly decent person. Officials don't seem to get the same leeway.
Theirs is a mostly thankless job and honestly I wonder why they do it. I do think, much like coaching, that you have to be at least a little arrogant to be a good official. If you aren't confident, you're toast.
And I still think John Higgins is the best official we ever get and has to be in the top 10 in the country. And I still think we're in a little deeper when we get Sanzere.

News, can you explain further why Coach Jans was physically restraining HCGM ?
Watching the replay, I must say impressive effort by the Evansville student section. All 8 of them.
The thing about the student section was that one of the students was on anothers shoulders and they did not block the line of sight of anyone else. I have seen better turn outs for an intramural game. That was as pathetic a display as I have ever seen.
I guess you were not at the game he threw our coach out.
MVC Tourney Indiana State 2008?
Probably deserved it tbh.
Yes he did. I know the whole story and it was well deserved. 8)
Does the whole story include that Sanzere didn't even T Marshall.
Pretty sure Collins and Pollard(who reffed last night and probably made 50% of all the foul calls) did the honors, with Pollard giving HCGM the heave-ho.
John Higgins playfully starting to take off his whistle and hand it to HCGM before the start of the Bradley game a couple of weeks ago was just about the most humorous interaction between a coach and an official that I've ever seen.
And on the mvc tourney where HCGM got tossed, i was sitting 2 rows from him, and HCGM literally said nothing. He had no reason to get tossed.
Just so we are clear on the facts. Let me know what I am missing:
1) This was during the MVC tournament which is generally highly watched by most of the fans of all of the valley teams,
2) All of the MVC games are heavily attended by conference officials,
2) You were sitting 2 rows from HC3Gs,
3) You claim that HC3G "said nothing" -- which means not a single word came out of his mouth, negative or otherwise, toward officials or anybody else for that matter,
4) Further you claim that "he had no reason to get tossed" which means he did not commit unsportsmanlike antics, repeatedly leave the coaching box after being warned, or commit any other similar offenses that could possibly cause a technical foul.
Therefore we can only assume that it is your assertion that a referee at a very highly watched tournament game -- attended by many Valley officials -- randomly and without any provocation or reason what-so-ever, according to your account from the second row which must be only a few feet away from said coach, assessed HC3G with a second technical foul and had him ejected from the game?
Would you like a glass of water before you reply to confirm your account of this story?
Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!
I was in St. Louis for that game, although too far away to hear any dialogue between Gregg and Pollard. I do remember Pollard giving Gregg the eye for about two minutes of game time right before he T'd him. I don't know if Gregg deserved it or not but I'm pretty sure Pollard was looking for a reason.
Gregg was being pretty demonstrative ealier in the game but I don't believe he was at the time of ejection. Maybe after he got tossed, but not right before.
Actually, considering what happened that first year, I think they have gotten along okay the past three.
I do need to give props out to Marshall. A blind student sang the National Anthem and it wasn't the best rendition. After he was done and Coach Hollander was leading him back to the Aces bench, Marshall came over to him and gave him a hug. It was a very nice gesture.

Wow thats cool! Again I'm glad HCGM is our coach! :posterwu: 8)
