It's here.
While I did predict it, for some reason, I really don't feel good about the Doggie demise. During their glory years, while not exciting to watch, they were damn tough to beat.
I never did believe in Coach Lowery. Maybe it was because of the break in his pants leg."Prediction is very difficult, especially if it is about the future."

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".
A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

I do think it is difficult for Valley schools in college towns to draw well consistently.
There seems to be more of a correlation between city size and attendance, with the top three always being Omaha, Wichita and Peoria. Des Moines is an exception due to being a small school and Iowa having two other power-conference schools nearby, as well as UNI within the state.
MSU's attendance is fairly proportional to WSU when city size and new arena is taken into account.
Places like Carbondale, Terra Haute and Normal just aren't going to pack the place if the team isn't at or near the top of the conference.
Newly renovated arena or not, SIU isn't going to draw the crowds unless they are winning.
It will be interesting to see what happens to CU's attendance next year. And if next year's team doesn't get better, the year after that.

Oh, and here is what appears happened. Credit to MSNSaluki who posted this on SalukiTalk:
All right guys ... here's what I believe transpired Thursday night with Long, Cleveland and Teague. I've talked to a bunch of people around campus this evening and almost every description of the events is the same so I have to believe the following scenario is pretty close to 100% accurate. My track record is pretty damn good in this area.
Long, Cleveland, Teague live off campus and were taking Drinkard back to his dorm. These guys - like many other teenagers and young adults around the world - own these popular air guns which are used to fire projectiles. Pretty harmless stuff. However, they made a bad decision ... when they got Drinkard back to campus they decided it would be funny to chase him back to his dorm with these guns. As this exercise was proceeding a couple of bystanders - including one who may have been hit by a stray shot - called campus police with reports of three young black men with guns chasing down another man. You can see where this thing was going.
Once campus police arrived on the scene they faced little resistance because this was all a big game to the Saluki basketball players. In the wake of campus tragedies at Virginia Tech and Northern Illinois, though, there is zero tolerance for any kind of weaponry on any college or university property so the three were cited. They will have a hearing sometime next week and from what I was told, the matter will most likely be closed at that point. These guys are not going to be expelled, but they will serve their full suspensions because in theory, they violated campus policy with their "weapons."
In short, they were just stupid not to realize they couldn't bring their off-campus toys on campus.
There is zero evidence Long, Cleveland and Teague are troublemakers. They've been good citizens since arriving on campus and will probably remain so from here on out. We can critique their basketball abilities (or lack thereof) all day long but the fact of the matter is this story was blown out of proportion from the start and the anti-Lowery sentiment sweeping Saluki Talk fanned the flames even further today.
That's what I've got.
