The law of averages states that even mediocre teams can win 50% of their games.
I honestly think if WSU had a Big East type schedule, they would be able to hold their ground at home for the most part. They would probably finish above .500. But it's all a moot point because you can't compare teams like that.“Losers Average Losers.” ― Paul Tudor Jones

I certainly hope they do. But I wouldn't call them goofy.
We have 3 tough road games left. UE beat us last year, so hopefully the Shocks will want revenge and won't overlook them. And the other two- UNI and SMS beat us in Wichita this year, so again I am hoping the revenge factor works in our favor.

Warren Nolan has the Shocks one of the last four teams in. K-State and Okie State are two of the last 4 out. His site also predicts 15-3 records for MSU and the Shocks. Gotta hope that MSU loss is to us in Springfield.
Ken Pomeroy's prediction is WSU 15-3 and MSU 14-4.
FWIW.

This year is a perfect example of the futility of predicting whether WSU is worthy of an at large bid at this time of the year.
MSU and UNI provide an opportunity for 3 or 4 top 50 games (and certainly 3 or 4 top-100 games). UE might provide WSU 2 top-100 W's if they can maintain their recent progress. VCU provides another top-50 game.
There's a lot of things that happen between now and Selection Sunday. If the Shox are actually peaking about now and they can maintain that through the end of the season, their resume is going to look a lot different in a couple of weeks. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

Sometimes it's easy to forget that when looking at our resume it is not in a vacuum. There will be other teams in similar situations and until that final week before Selection Sunday we can't say, with any authority, that we are either in or out.
The question isn't how our resume stacks up to years past, but how it stacks up this year.
